HI guys, I started my new 20mg oxycontin as per Drs orders, last night. I also tried the anti-inflammatory suppository last night as requested even though I know it upsets my tummy, I agreed as I had very obvious inflammation, (after getting an ESR of only 10 on Tuesday and feeling great about it!!!!!) Poor baby, you're having a terrible time. I'm so sorry. I think you should go ahead and feel sorry for yourself sometimes. You've earned it, sad to say. I hope you're feeling much better during your next post. Hugs.
Anyway, today I took another 20mg and felt so drowsy and itchy, I just didn't feel well, and had a sore throat and with the MTX, I keep getting a feeling that my tongue is burned and my gums are all sore, also the roof of my mouth!!! Gee whiz, what next????? I phoned my pharmacist about the itchyness and he suggested Claratyne which has helped a bit thankfully.
Now tonight, I felt awful, terrible tummy pain, sweats, painful feet, (although the oxycodone 20mg has definitely helped too.) My hip was the worst yesterday and my spine and I could still feel the pain even after that dose of painkiller and 5mg of endone on top for breakthrough as my Dr suggested. So now for the last 2 and a half hours I have had gastro problems, and have practically read a whole book while taking my seat on the throne, I thought it was never going to stop. I know it is the antiinflammatory as it always happens and I always say "never again", I was feeling a little sorry for myself as it seems with this disease if you get a little good news or a little of feeling better, it always comes at a price???????? Anybody else feel that? Thanks for putting up with me my very good friends, I really need you all and love you all too, Janie.XXXXXXX
Hi Jasmine, this time around I am taking "Indocid", but it happens with Feldene, Voltaren, Digesic, Naprosyn and others that I can't recall the names of. Thanks Jane.
Hugs Janie!
Yep - even enteric-coated and injectable NSAIDs (forms which never directly hit the stomach) can cause grave stomach problems.
Thanks Jasmine, your input is much appreciated. Janie.
I can take high-dose naproxen daily for a few months straight, but even if I take Prevacid every day, eventually I will hit the wall and my stomach will protest. I then have to lay off it for a month or so.
