MTX/Tylenol | Arthritis Information

I am on MTX and Prednisone. Because of the prednisone I am only allowed to take Tylenol for pain. (I'm not in need of narcotics right now)

There are plenty of times when Tylenol would really make me feel better but because both MTX and Tylenol are toxic to the liver I usually don't take it and suffer through instead.

Am I being silly?

follow the dosage guidelines and you should be ok especially with the regular testing.  However if you are regularly adding the tylenol I would certainly avoid alcohol.
I've never heard that prednisone prevents you from taking a pain medication or NSAID.  what does your doctor say about that

I've never worried about taking tylenol while taking mtx.  I've taken tylenol many times while on mtx.  With any cold I have I always take tylenol cold medication as well.  As long as your doctor says it's ok, I wouldn't worry about it About the prednisone and NSAIDS/Pain Relievers he says they will give a good potential to cause stomach bleeding and it happens very quickly with no notice...

Except for Tylenol or whatever brand with the same ingredient- I don't dare try to spell it with my brain fog but we all know what I mean....
