Is this normal with RA? | Arthritis Information

Everyday I have joint pain but it's never in the same joints from the previous day. Like one day I will wake up and have joint pain in my wrists, thumbs, toes, etc. Then the next day instead of those joints hurting it will be different joints such as knees, different fingers, elbows etc.

Is it normal for the pain to shift constantly? I am still waiting for my appt with a Rheum and this is really freaking me out. Like today my index fingers, pinky fingers, and big toes are hurting. I'm sure tomorrow a different set of joints will be hurting. What gives?!!? I think everyone is different. For me it is pretty much wrists, hands and ankles that want to remind me I have RAI'll go through spells where something will bother me for a while. Like I'll have a horrible time with my knees and that will last for a while then I'll have trouble with my hips....hands.....elbows; whatever and my knees will seem much better. Usually it's not as quick as a day to day change for me: But it has happened.

Hope you're doing better soon. Just as quickly as things change they can also change for the better.
hi wonderstruck. my ra can bounce around the body like a ping pong ball
very unpredictable at othertimes it is all the joints at once..
Boney

mine changes... and some stays the same.

IF I over do with a joint...say my wrist... I will find discomfort in it later that day or the next....

some joints just hurt... almost every day... knees, ankles..  wrists...some days worse than others..  But I don't have the same level pain in each joint during each day.

mine bounces around too. Not just day to day but from moment to moment. One second my neck, then knee, then hands. I almost always have pain in left foot, left hip, and both hands. The pain varies to different degrees.
Crazy disease!
I have psoriatic arthritis and the pain can jump from joint to joint within hours or sometimes minutes, so I know exactly how annoying it can be.My Rd said that if the pain is moving around that it was a good thing.
That means that it is getting kicked out of those joints and moving to new ones only to get kicked out of there too.
My hope is when that is happening that they will just get tired of trying to beat me up
and just quit.

RA is an equal opportunity disease. Any joint is fair game. It does have some favorites.  Mine bounces around a lot - usually in a matter of minutes. I do have some joints that the pain is pretty consistent but for the most part it moves around. Very frustrating as I keep having to move my heating pad around LOLHi,

My RA goes where ever it wants, whenever it wants and stays for however long it wants before moving on to another place.
