wow, what a dr appt today! | Arthritis Information

Today was my first appt since being in the hospital and finally all the test results are in. I was super low in magnesium, b-12, and iron. I had to start the b-12 shots tonight and start mag. in the morning. I am really excited. My dr. believes a lot of my symptoms like lethargy, neuropathy, forgetfullness, slurring, etc will go away by next week, yay!

Even though I haven't been trying, I've lost about 50 lbs - and am now 10 lbs below my ideal weight, so even though I am not hungry, he wants me to try not to lose anymore weight. He wants me to get my daily protein and fortunately I like peanut butter, so instead of just butter on my toast or bagel, I will use that. It also has salt which he wanted me to increase and it's dry so I will be drinking more liquids, another order, lol.

So, all in all I am looking forward to getting better just when I was losing hope. A lot of unanswered questions got answered and for once, it all makes sense. I am really happy.

That is wonderful, Deb!

I remember that long list of dr appts you needed to make for your problems, and now... you can mark some of those off your list! I am happy to hear that. I was worried about you, and hoping you were not over doing with the new job and all.

I hope the new news will make you feel much much better.

I guess a kinda congrats on the weight loss. I mean, since you were not trying to lose the weight and all. But I bet your joints can tell a difference.

Glad your appointment went well! Enjoy eating all the foods you love! At one point I was like you too- losing weight like crazy due to disease. It's scary. I did enjoy having milkshakes and eating to my heart's desire because I love food. Luckily my health turned around and I did gain all my weight (plus some) back. Hope you get better soon.

Glad to hear that they were able to find some answers - and that you'll be on the track to feeling better fairly quickly.   Enjoy your PB  - I love PB and Honey on toast/muffin.

Great news Deb!!  Must be a big weight off your shoulders.  I mean, getting some answers.  AND having things be so simple to fix. Many gentle hugs to ya, Deb!!

I'm glad they were able to figure stuff out and it sounds like you're on the road to recovery. It also sounds like your doc is on top of things.

PS - If you eat McDs everyday, you'll put on some weight.
Soooo, if this works, I can stop the lexapro for dep. and Lyrica for neuropathy. We are gonna talk about it in 6mo, after I do the b-12  and have my levels checked.

I'm not sure what caused the weightloss. I had a partial hys. weaned off pred. and started lexapro all at the same time, so not sure what caused the weightloss, but that much, so quickly caused my drop in magesium and vit. D

weird coincidence that brought everything to a head. Hopefully the docs are right and I can cut out all my meds except mtx, plaq, and salagen. We shall see...
