I "finally" got my prescription called in, took a week, but now am on 20mg arava instead of 10mg.

I woke up this morning not breathing as good as i should, and the amount of pain in my body made me want to cry and it was everywhere.

I took naproxen and most of the pain is gone, except the normal pains of course.

I just hope it isn't the pill, i need the pill, it's my last hope.
i hope it gets better soon.   hi bubba if this has happend afer going up a dose on arava i surgest you call your
docs.. and if breathing stays bad or worens goto e.r and have a medical..
even if nothing is wrong it is best to be on the safe side.. i had some strange reactions
on arava and it stays in the body a long time..if you are having a bad reaction
charcoal may need to be administerd

Poor bubbagump. You just seem to have an extra rough road of it due to allergies. I think though with auto immune diseases our bodies become so sensitive to every little shift. Hang in there, hopefully it will settle but like Boney says don't muck around with breathing issues...there are kinda important. Lol. I am sure your hubby and kids would like you to keep breathing, as well as the rest of your family and friends so act if it gets worse, woman.

I often relate to things you talk about with RA difficulties as I live in a rural area also. I may be in AU and you the US but rural issues and RA are similar the world over. There are certainly issues living in the country creates along with having a chronic disease.

I hope things get better.

Bubba, that breathing issue is really worrisome.  Please get that checked out immediately and let us know how you're doing.  Thanks everyone.

By this afternoon, i am breathing better.  I will see what tonight's dose does for me.  I just hope it isn't it and was something i ate yesterday.  I need this drug and my liver seems to like it.

Otherwise it is upped prednisone and i am trying to get off of that.  It's the only drug that works for me right now, besides naproxen, for some reason it work son pain for me when none of the other things like it do.  Just wish it wasn't so hard on the stomach.

Thanks again, it's nice to come in and vent with people who have same kind of troubles here and there.
hi  bubba are you saying the pred is hard on the stomach.. i take omeprazole
everyday..
Boney

I'm sorry, what i meant was naproxen hurts my stomach.

Prednisone can hurt your stomach though.

Bubba

Naproxen's an NSAID and NSAIDs can be really hard on the stomach. Has your dr. ever suggested taking something that will protect your stomach? I'm on Pantoloc, a proton pump inhibitor to keep the stomach acids down.
