OT American Idol | Arthritis Information
Did not see the whole show last night. Saw Carly (thought she was awesome!) and David Cook (I don't think he is as great as the judges do, but he did fine last night). In the clips at the end, Syesha looked really strong and Jason Dreadlocks looked pretty wussy. Everybody else looked....fair.
But today when The View was coming on, they said something like 'Did this performance blow it?' and showed Brooke. What happened??? Must have been pretty rough, if The View was doing a whole segment on it!
I missed it and have it taped to watch tonight, but from what I have read, she forgot the lyrics to her song and really messed up.....She started and then one or two lines in, forgot the lyric and told the band to stop and start over. She did this once before, but I believe she was playing the piano on that one, so it wasn't like she had to stop the whole band.
I don't get why in the past the judges have slaughtered contestants for forgetting the lyrics, but this year they seem to get a free pass, including Brooke, David A, and Carly (maybe others too).
The judges didn't criticize Brooke for stopping, in fact they said it was good to do that, but the problem they said was that it threw off her whole performance.
I'm hoping against the odds for a David Cook & Syesha finale.
BTW, according to DialIdol, Carly has the lowest votes this week, followed very closely (within margin of error) by Brooke and Jason. Guess we'll see tonight...
David Cook and Carly are my personel favorites! But no one beats Elliott Yamin he's my hometown boy any Yaminions out there?
Actually, the last time Brooke had the band start over it was because she was off key, not because she dropped the lyrics. That's why she said last night that this was her first time. I thought it was odd that they praised her last time for it, but didn't this time - well, except for Simon.
I thought David Archuletta did an awesome job on his song. He made it so modern. I also LOVED LOVED LOVED David Cook. I didn't know he had a solo album out already. Did you guys? I listened to a little bit of it today and it's a bit too rocky for me.
kweenb2008-04-23 14:23:29dial idol is wildly inaccurate these days..and traditinal it loses even more accuracy when they go to 2 phone lines. I think Brooke's time is up. If she lasts another week I think she might fall apart. She is not handling the stress well.
I'm hopiong for a David Cook, Carly final. I suspect though is that it will be an all David final. David Archeletta has a good voice but he is sooo boring to me. I just don't see him gaining more votes from the eliminated performers whereas I see Either David C or Carly gaining votes. Seyesha and Jason won't go all the way. Seyesha isn't that popular and Jason is too erratic in his performace. Bbut of course i'm only 1 out of millions (lol)
kweenb, yes, Brooke started over last time for a different reason, just meant that this is the second performance where she started over. I agree with buckeye that she's not handling the stress well. I like her a lot, but I think she's probably gone far enough (for her own good) and would do better in smaller venues. Not sure how she's gonna handle the tour.
If Syesha can continue performing with the personality she showed last night, I think she'd become more popular. Not sure that's gonna happen though...
Well it looks like DialIdol wasn't accurate about Syesha, but turned out to be right about Carly. I think Carly's very talented, but I'm still glad my girl Syesha is sticking around.Does that mean Carly got the boot? I missed it.
I can't believe Carly got voted off. She is so good. I really felt like Brooke and Jason would be in the bottom two. Boy was I off on that one!
In my opinion, the wrong person went home. Carly should be in the final 3 anyway, right along with the two Davids.
I do like Syeshia alot... and Dreds has to go!

I'm sad about Carly! I always like the rockers LOL. I was really glad they had her sing again - I thought "Jesus Christ Superstar" was her best performance yet. Sang it in the shower myself this a.m. LOL.
I'd like to see David C. and Syesha in the finals now. David A. won a Star Search, and since it got him nowhere apparently, he shouldn't win this. Jason Dreds - ditto what has been said. Brooke - something isn't right about her, maybe she knows there is something out there about her fakey squeaky clean image that is looming, ready to break?????
Hubby and I think Brooke is on the verge of a nervous breakdown and we both wondered if now that she didn't go home (which I think she expected) if she might not back out anyway (if their contract allows). I like Brooke, but it is getting uncomfortable watching how uncomfortable she is in this large venue.
Did you guys realize Brooke already has an album out?
I guess David Cook does too. I heard a little of David's. It's a bit too rocky for me, though I really love his voice. I haven't heard any from Brooke's album.
I just watched your American Idol ( we get on a thursday night and then the vote offs on a friday but now I know....lolol) I am sad about Carly going, I like her. I thought Brooke was going to go.
Remember in Brooke's first interviews, she said she's never seen an R rate movie..
I think she is very innocent, and the stress is just too much for her, i really really like her tho. She's' just wayy out of her normal comfort zone.. . and wants soo much to be
perfect and liked...she's a sweet girl..
Carly had 2 big hits against her... imo.. and I don't think they're fair.. but its how people are.. they think just bc she had a record deal, she already was given a chance..
and 2nd... people may argue w/ me against this, but I think the tats and the
over tattoed hubby, worked against her.. (been reading various forums also.).
Most middle America are not going to like her husbands tats...esp face ones.. imo
Great site, tons of articles, on all your fav shows, esp Reality shows.
Anyway, I hope they still have bright futures.. i like the rockers too!!

I think this has been one of the best years, bc the contenstants, mostly DO HAVE
EXPERIENCE... which would really have helped brooke.. !! (used to the stage and live people)...
I do think its going to end up btwn the 2 Davids, that'd be my guess... for now... lol
Ok, so I'm looking at the Brook website from previous post and looking at the Q&A. When asked who her fave male singers are, she has Stevie KNICKS listed. Um, it's Stevie Nicks, and she's a girl. From FleetwoodMac. Now, she can't be that dumb, can she? Maybe there is really a male Stevie Knicks that 24 yr. olds know about?
