OT - Organizing the refrigerator | Arthritis Information

This morning I was putzing with this and that and decided to organize the refrigerator a bit. My hand touched a bottle of my DH's beer and thus brought to mind a memory of my beloved, Baby Bear.
She wouldn't go near anyone who had had anything to drink - not even my DH!
As a matter-of-fact at one time an acquaintance (and I use the term loosely) had come by the house and definitely had alcohol on his breath. Baby Bear, who never growled, stood between me and the screen door and growled, bared her teeth and the hair on her body stood straight up. A couple of days later I heard this person had been picked up and booked for illegal entry and attempted robbery.
She truly was my guardian!!  "OH - I MISS HER SO!"
Hi Watchingwolf, she sounds like a really special dog, I'm so sorry for your loss.  I love all animals but dogs seem to have developed a unique bond with humans, they "get" us like no other animal can, and when a treasured pet passes it rips us up terribly inside.  I know it sounds trite but over time the pain will diminish, although it never really goes away. Here's a wonderful article from a writer whose work I enjoy: Izzie

Best wishes,
Andrea
Awww...what a sweet dog! I really feel for you. I know it's no consolation, but concentrate on how lucky you were to have him for those years.

hey watchingwolf,  so sorry to hear about baby bear.   what an awesome story about izzy.   i love my doggy too.   she loves me more than anybody.  write down all the special times you can remember.   it might be helpful and fun, maybe you could get  everyone  who knew baby bear to think of past times.   just know i understand, wonderwoman
