How long does Celebrex stay in your system? | Arthritis Information

I only took 4 doses: Thurs PM, Fri AM/PM and Sat AM before stopping because I thought I was having an allergic reaction:  intense itching in my joints of fingers and toes.  It's been 48 hours since my last dose and I'm still having small bouts of itching.  Do you think its still the Celebrex working its way out or can RA present itself as itching and it wasn't the meds at all?  It seems a bit odd that the meds would cause itching in JUST my fingers and toes but anything is possible!  Just trying to make sense of it before I call my dr and they think I'm nuts!I have no idea.  However, my RD did tell me that NSAIDs (generally) can take up to 5 days to be effective.  Which would make me think that they stay in your system at least that long? But I'm just guessing.  Hope you get some relief soon!

My knuckles on my bad RA hand have been itching but they also have these weird litte flat bumps that no one can figure out.  Derm said maybe warts but then RD said he'd never seen anything like them. I sometimes wonder if I actually have psoriatic arthritis with arthritis first, but I figure RD would pick up on it if it looked anything like psoriasis.
^ you have to give NSAIDs up to 3-6 months for them to start working. I once had a good reaction with one about 5 months after I started taking it.  Some take a while to built up in your system. I would stop the Cel and see if you are still itchy. If you are, then it is the RA!
