Did someone here send me a package?? | Arthritis Information

I got home from work last night and there was a package addressed to Harley, who is my dog, sitting on the table.  I asked my hubby what it was and he had no idea.  I did not recognize the return address but open it anyways.  There is no note or card or anything, just a pair of OshKosh blue jean overalls, size 6-9 months.  Now I supposed a dog could wear baby overalls but I am really at a lost as to who might have sent them to me.

The return address has the last name of Bottenfield in MN.  I don't know anyone with that name or that lives in MN.  I have no idea how they got my address and its a bit of a mystery.  I post on this and two other message boards so I am asking if anyone on any of the message boards sent it?

I don't know if I should send them a thank you note or be creeped out??

Very curious!
Michele

sounds a bit creepy... have you given your address out...
maybe just a friend playing a prank...
Boney I'm thinking creeped out.... Yeah, I am creeped out but was trying to be nice in case it was someone here!!LOL!!  I have only given my address out via email and thats only been to two people and they both said it wasn't from them?????

With all the miscarriages and fertility issues, I don't know, I hope someone wasn't trying to be cruel????

Its just so strange????

Do I use the return address to contact them and what would I say??
Someone would have to be really, really sick to do something like that.  If they were being that way, the return address is fake, I'm sure.

I would think it was some kind of screwup/accident, like a confused distant relative of someone who messed up the address, or meant to send a gift sooner and found the address on yahoo people search, except it is weird it has your dog's name.

Maybe there is a benevolent poster out there, who wanted to send your dog a treat and accidentally switched packages  - now there is a six month old somewhere whose mom can't figure out who sent her baby a leash????
I'm thinking that they wouldn't put a name and return address,  if they were trying to be cruel,  It may just be a mix up, it may be a for someone else that the person didn't know very well, and address it wrong.  But your dogs name, thats funny.

Do you know that just about everyone sell your information?  Maybe your vet did and it got mixed up as being a kid.

I like the thought of a 6 month old with the dog leash!  Funny!!!

Yeah, there is a complete return address, it just has the first initial for the first name but the full last name and complete address.  Is there a way to google the address to see if it belongs to the name on the package?

And yeah, why Harley's name?  Very odd. I don't use his name as passwords or anything like that either.  Hmmm.
Micheleb,

I'm in the "that's creepy" camp, although I do enjoy a little mystery!very weird....just curious...are the overalls new with tags? or used?Hi Michelle, wierd!!!!!  Were there any doggie treats in the pockets?  Sorry, I couldn't resist, I would just wait and see, and if you are very worried, maybe go and ask at the Manager of the post office if they could connect with the post office of the other end to see if there is such an address and is the mailer a regular who sends and receives mail?  Maybe worth a try?  Hugs Janie. The overalls don't look brand new, no tags but they are in very good condition!  No doggie treats in the pockets but I did check after you asked!  LOL!

Going to try that whitepages link now......Will keep you posted! I just find it very odd there was no note or anything in there, I even had Will get down on the floor to see if one fell out when I opened it but nothing!  They weren't wrapped or anything either, just sort of folded and stuck in a mailer from the post office!  Mystery!  Where is Scooby Doo and Shaggy when you need them!  Hehe!!
Hmm, well I tried the whitepages site and searched several ways, there is no name matching and I can not find a street address with any name in the city and state listed either!  The mystery deepens!   [QUOTE=micheleb]  Where is Scooby Doo and Shaggy when you need them!  Hehe!!

They are in the Mystery Van smoking some reefer and eating veegan hotdogs. It isn't the mystery van.  It's the Mystery Machine.  But you're probably right about the rest.  :)Michele, do you buy on eBay? Maybe someone you bought from in the past got your address confused with someone else and sent you their package??  It's a long shot, especially because of the dog's name, but just thought I'd throw it out there...Michele -

I'm in the creepy camp.  Listen, all tax info is available on line.  Go to the city the sender came from's web site.  All municipalities have them.  If it's a small town, it has a township web site.  Look for it's 'assessing' department.  All parcels are listed in there.  See who lives there and if the name matches.

Ok, Mystery Solved!!  On the IBS message board I post on, there is a girl who had sent me a package two years ago when I first got Harley so she had Harley's name and my address in her address book.  I guess she had ordered these overalls for her new son from this person in MN and somehow my address popped up instead of hers!  That's why I didn't recognize the return address.  I don't know if she ordered them from ebay or just where exactly and that explains why there was no note or anything!

I will forward the overalls to her today.  So, the big mystery is solved!  There goes my excitement!  LOL! I lead a BORING life!
Well, better this than a crazy psycho stalker.  But yeah, less exciting!!Good work Velma! Ya did it without Shaggy and Scooby!  :)   Thanks Grammakathy!  I feel a little let down now that the mystery is solved! Maybe I should join Shaggy and Scooby in the Mystery Machine for some wacky tabacky!!!  Boy, my lungs would not like that at all with this ragging Sarcoidosis!  Stupid disease! Yeah... it would have been better if ya could have gotten Shaggy & Scooby to help ya LOL!
