does getting drunk keep you for hurting even if for alittle while?  w.w.I haven't gotten drunk in years but I did notice that the last time I had a couple of beers, I hurt worse. Plus I was afraid to take my evening relafen. Some drugs say not to drink alcohol. Be careful mixing alcohol with those meds you are on. Could be dangerous!Personally alcohol seems to make my symptoms worse.mine too!   i was just making a funny!  w.w.If you have fibro, between the fog and the staggered gait, you don't need a drop.
It helped with my pain but by morning I would be in sheer pain and not be able to move.

Last time I drank a pint of rum was last July, before I started seeing new RD and when I was on only pred.  I figured I might as well get it out of my system... because new RD would be putting me on meds that I would not be able to enjoy a drink with. I have only drank a hand full of times. Not much into drinking, but when ya are in your 20's is when most "explore". I did not even drink before I turned 21... how sad is that? Heck I took my first drink when I was 22.
I dunno about getting drunk, but a beer or two on occasion certainly helps ease my aches and pains for a few hours.  But like anything else, it has side effects. Hey Joonie. Don't remember which post it was but you said that you had been married for twenty years. Was this a typo? Just wondering. Alcohol always makes my symptoms worse...but I still like to have a drink or two once in a while.

I was never a big drinker and never been actually drunk...easy to do when you don't like wine or beer and only drink mixed drinks, mostly sweet ones.  That being said, I do on occasion have one or two, and I find that I generally do feel better, without any bad effect after.  Oh, except feeling warm, which I can live with.

But like CinDee said, many if not most of our meds shouldn't be mixed with alcohol, plus the long term affects on our livers, so unfortunately this can't be a regular pain relief method.

wonder woman, are you asking because you are having problems with pain relief?
Hey Joonie. Don't remember which post it was but you said that you had been married for twenty years. Was this a typo? Just wondering.
Yes, it was a typo. 1 is close to 2.

I have been married for 10 years.
sure  is .. infact it cant get any closer... my body is not very regular right now.   i am flaring ever since they took me off plaquenil.   the doctor does not have anything to replace it with that works the same as plaquenil.   so more or less i was making a joke.   i really do not like to drink.   i have noticed the next day i really hurt, after even 1 drink, plus alcoholism runs very strong in my family, actually all kinds of substance abuse run in my family.   i was looking for an easy out.   i guess there is really no such thing.  w.w.I felt a real need to "tie one on" recently. So I had 2 martinis. That night I felt so good! My mood was very much lifted! Early- before the break of dawn....Good God Have Mercy did I have a headache to beat all! And the runs....
No  increased arthritis symptoms but....
I guess drinking is a thing of the past.....

A few months back maybe November... I was craving a beer. For some reason my taste buds wanted the taste of a beer. Did not get it but man! I was craving it for a week or more and could "smell" beer. And it just drove me freaking NUTS!

Wonderwoman maybe we can switch off and on with names- I can identify with wonderwoman too!

Joonie- my father in lae swore by O'Doull's. Said it had the taste and smell of real beer without the alcohol.
I love a great glass of wine or a really cold beer but I don't like to get drunk.
I can't handle the hangovers, I don't have time for that.
But when ever I need a vicodan I have a vicodan hang over the next
day .
Thats kind of like an alcohol hang over but not as bad.
I'm glad I don't need them much.
i wonder if lortab give you a hangover?  w.w.Lortabs knock me out and if I resist going to sleep... I get paranoid. Me being paranoid is not a pretty sight
