Our grandson had called last evening wanting to know if I could give him a ride to school this morning. No problem.
Well, he calls this morning and tells me his top lip is so puffy his lip is shiny. However, it doesn't hurt, no visible insect bite marks, didn't eat anything he hasn't before and doesn't have a fever. His mom has the day off so she was there to put an ice pack on it and the swelling has gone down but a smidge. She called a few minutes ago to say she has an appt. for him with their family doctor.
Anyone have a clue as to what this could be?

when i have a allergic react .. itake antihistamines. hope he is ok.

At my nephew's wedding reception I suddenly broke out in hives all over my face and my lips looked like I had collagen shots! I hadn't eaten anything I hadn't eaten before either! I never found out why but Benydryl fixed me up.Of course, I've been on-line trying to find info in regard to "sudden lip swelling." Came across this website and whereas it didn't answer any of the questions twirling around in my head it did get my attention when I saw "rheumatoid arthritis." When I came across RA I was looking at Complement Blood Tests. Thought perhaps others on the board who do lotza research might be interested in this site. Here it is:

Hi, I have started to get cold sores after restarting MTX, my lips do a similar thing, any chance of a cold sore? Good luck, hope he is ok. Janie.
