HI all,

I try not to complain, but I am having a very bad time. I have a lot of stress right now and that is just making me feel terrible.  I have been cold for several day. I normally do not feel cold. Nausea and achy and I am not sleeping well. My poor hubby has been so supportive, but I feel bad always telling him I feel bad. I just needed to get this off my chest. I start Mxt on Sunday hopefully that will help some. I work 4 ten hour days and Mon Tue Weds are my days off so I figured if i was going to have any problems with it I should take it then.

Thanks for listening to me.
Sorry, to hear you are not feeling good, Lorrie. Stress so affects auto immune diseases. It's really an art in learning to manage what you have going on in your life with your disease. Many, many times I have literally flared due to stress alone.

Take the best care of yourself you can through all this as that will help enormously. Glad to hear hubby so supportive too, that will help a lot also.

So sorry you are feeling so poorly. How about wrapping yourself in a nice blanket and putting a heating pad behind your back. Snuggle up and go ahead a feel a little sorry for yourself for a bit.
Hope the MTX works for you but it usually takes about 4-6 weeks I believe. Good idea with your day of choice. I tolerate it very well but I do feel more fatigued for several days.
HI Lorried, I feel exactly like you do, like I am always complaining to hubby, don't worry, picture yourself the other way around, you would do the same for him wouldn't you, that is what my hubby says to me, and he says he has accepted his role and that I should not feel guilty about what he and the kids go thru because of my condition, we manage the best we can and during acute times he has to be a little more emotionally supportive, he says sometimes he can't tell when, so could I let him know, so you are very lucky too to have a supportive hubby, don't be too hard on yourself as that alone can make you flare.  If you need to PM me feel free as I feel for what you are going thru.  Good on you for still working, you should be very proud of yourself and you need to pat yourself on the back now and again just to acknowledge the good things you are doing.  Best of luck with the MTX, it certainly has helped me, I can only get to 10mg and then I have probs, but I am happy just with the comfort the 10mg gives me.  All the best Lorrie, don't forget to pamper yourself too!  Gentle hugs Janie.  hi lorried.. like yourself i do not usually feel the cold.. even befor ra
i allways took this as a indication of infection or flue coming  on..
saying this ra can have flue like symptoms.. i hope you feell better .
Boney   You will feel so much better if you can get warmed up. It really helps. I am very cold much of the time. I wear wool socks year round and fingerless gloves and they really help. It took me a while to get over looking like a "freak" but the gloves are worth it. Now everyone at work is just used to it, and a couple more people have started wearing them! We call them our "michael jackson gloves". LOL Be glad you have such a sweet husband, I always feel bad for mine too, but he says he wants to help me and doesn't mind.
Hope you feel better soon.
Laker

sorry you're feeling bad...  I hope the MTX gives you some positive change!!

I understand about always telling your hubby you feel poorly.... but who else can we tell?  those closest always understand the best..

good luck.

Hi Lorrie
Sorry that you're not feeling well.  Sometimes I feel like all I do is complain to my husband, so I understand how you feel.  If you need to complain here instead sometimes and give him a break, that's what we're here for.  I've always been cold, but it's been even worse with RA.  Some nights I feel like a little old grandmother on the couch with my blanket and slippers on.   Wrap yourself up and try to pamper yourself.   Hope the mtx works quickly for you, but be patient as it can take awhile for it to work.

Take care
Cathy
  Best of luck!  :)
lorrie2008-11-23 05:02:04Feel better soon! Hope the MTX helps you. *** GENTLE HUGS ***  Thank you. I am feeling a little better. At lease some of the queasy feeling has subsided.  i'm glad I found you all here.
Lorried, sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.  I've been on MTX since May '07 and it has worked very well for me.  I hope you will have good luck with it also.  Please take care of yourself work-wise.  I'm having to cope with changing jobs due to RA etc. and it isn't fun.  I have decided that I have to take care of my health so I can continue to fight this RA etc.  10-hour days sounds like too much.

When I first went on MTX I was also on prednisone for a very short amount of time.  I felt queasy during that time period, but I think it was the prednisone.  I can't even tell I take the MTX now.
I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.  Be sure to eat something with your meds, or at least have a glass of milk to coat your stomach.  MTX is a miracle drug for many here and it will hopefully be a great help to you too.  Just be patient for a few weeks.  Easy to say, I know, but the MTX needs time to kick in.
