OK..... My thyroid Dr. is upset that my liver levels are high. The RD . doesn't seemed worried about it.  So much so he didn't even check them.   The Thyroid Dr. said they are twice as high is normal.  I have off of the MTX. for about Weeks. These are the the Stats what do you think?

Is it normal for my RD to shrug this off.  It's as though he is upset that he told me the result's..... I am clue less as what to think...    My liver has been off since November chemo. A GI guy is the one to answer, RDs don't always know what to think. It may be taking longer to clear out not necessarily something wrong. which dr took you off  the mtx?  I think the questio nyou should ask your rheumatologist is why he isn't overly concerned about your liver function numbers..but if you are on MTX and your rhuematologist is not rehularly checking your liver functions I would be in the market for a new one.   Sorry.. I left out 8 week's.  I have been considering going to another RD.  I have been with him for over 10 yr's or so.  You know first name bases.  It's like one minute I feel as though I am a priority the next, I know change is good I just don't do it well .  It took me a long time to find a Doc. who didn't seem to make me feel that the FM is just a throw away disease. There is another RD in town I haven't heard anything good about him .  My only option is to go to Indy.......  I just don't know? To be honest those levels are a bit elevated but not necessarily anything to get tense about.  It's not uncommon to take a "watch and wait" attitude with mildly elevated enzyme levels, as long as there are no other liver problems such as viral hepatitis or chronic alcohol abuse.  I would talk to your rheumatologist about your concerns. JasmineRain2008-05-01 19:56:22My   liver   enzyems   have   been   high   for   6   years   even   before   RA.    My   Rhuemy   was   hesitant   to   start   me   on  medicine   at   all.
I  have   had   lliver   biopses,   do   not   drink   and   not   overly   overweight.
went   to   a   new   GP   and   he   told   me   to   go   low   carb   not   total   but   under    50grams   a   day   until   my   liver   gets   healed   and   to   take   Milk   thistle   caps.
well   with  in   3   months   my   levels   were   normal.
And   because   I   cheat  on   the   carb   levels   it   is   not   from   weight   loss.

Try   Milk  Thistle  Ccaps

Ooh -  good point about the milk thistle!  Many people have reported good results with it regarding liver enzyme levels.
