Does your RA feel different in different joints? | Arthritis Information

Just wondering if how you use a joint or other factors affect how the RA feels.  Does it ever make it difficult to determine if its RA again or an injury, etc?

I walked around with a fractured ankle for 3 weeks thinking
it was Ra flare, it felt just like a flare . My rd finally said that
I needed a x-ray only to find out it was a fracture.
Maimie,
Funny, that's exactly what I'm dealing with!  I have no known injury but my ankle and above my arch is to the point that I struggle to walk without a limp.  Its the weirdest thing!  Its been going on for over a month and is getting steadily worse while my other joints seem to be a bit better.  I tried an arch support band and it seemed to help but doesn't stay on very well if I'm active at all.

It is hard to tell what it is because you have swelling with both
Ra and a fracture . And putting ice on either will reduce swelling.
When I realised I had a fracture I was so surprised because I
don't know how it could have happened.
But as soon as I got the removable cast on it did start feeling better.
You might want to  think about an xray.
new or different pain should be reported to your rheumatologist.  also pain in a specific joint that does not respond to normal treatment.  It is far better to err on the side of caution than to assume every pain is due to the RA.
