RA and the common cold virus | Arthritis Information

I'm into the 9th day of a cold (sore throat first, dry cough, congestion---the usual story) and I know I'm on the road to recovery. BUT, I did some house cleaning and laundry this morning and am absolutely exhausted and feeling weak. Does anyone else have this reaction to a cold virus? It seems that ever since I've had RA (3 years now) every time I get a cold, I'm just knocked down by it, sleeping a lot, etc. I'm thinking it might be that my body must work harder than it used to in order to heal itself since having RA. I'd like to know others' experience with colds and RA. It's only 1:45 pm and I'm ready for rest and a nap!! Thanks, everyone.hi chalie brown seeing the meds you are on and 9days of infection
a visit to your gp may be in order.. antibiotics may be required

Boney  My husband who does not have RA has this same thing and same duration so far...might be a tough strain going around.

Made him a big pot of chicken soup today and he has been drinking the broth all day.
Hi,

Pulled my response.  I see someone else has already posted the update on Enbrel.

Katalina2008-05-03 14:17:17Same here with a dang cold.  Had one or maybe even the flu a few weeks ago.  Knocked me down for about three to four days easy.

Then I got a sun burn yesterday and today I feel like I am starting to get the cold again.  Not much of a voice is how it always starts.  Then blowing my nose.  I need to buy the store out on kleenex's.

Hope you feel better soon.
