hi guys, i have a ? for ya.. would love to get your opinions..

I'm taking a trip , this yr, to Nc,.. in July.. and wondering if its best to get tickets now.. i know the rule says the earlier the better.... right now, I can get a flight for around 350 RT

from san diego to charlotte Nc...

so do i get a ticket now..  asap.. or do i wait and take a chance they might, just might go a bit lower?

Thanks for your help/ advice~
Whispered~

HI Whispered, how much lower are they likely to go?  If it was me and the difference isn't going to be too great, then for peace of mind I would get it now, then you can relax and look forward to your break with no worries about missing out etc, best of luck, Janie.XX  they're not going lower the closer you get unless people suddenly don't want to fly and that doesn't seem to be happening yet.  350 is a good rt price I'd go ahead and buyI've been thinking about booking a vacation in advance but I'm thinking I better take that trip insurance out this time...in case I don't feel good when the time comes.hi whispered .. i dont know about the usa but here in the uk
prices soar when it comes to school holiday times..
so here it is best to buy early..
Boney.. Are you locked into certain dates for the travel?  Because the flights might get full that time of year, regardless of the price.

I agree with everyone, book it.
Book it.  Rates are not coming down for awhile.

I usually book our April trip in dec. but someone told me to wait until last minute and that we would get the best prices doing that. Well that is not true , we ended up paying 0 more. If you book it now and you notice the prices have gone down you will get reembursed.

maimi...airlines will NOT reimburse you if rates go down unless you are one of those rare people who but a totally unrestricted ticket.  People need to pay close attention to booking rulesI go through a travel agent and that is one of the things she promotes.
If the prices go down you will get reembursed.
I have never seen the prices go down myself .
But you never know.
I was in the travel business for years and historically prices always go up in the summer due to demand. With that in mind plus rising fuel costs it seems they will most likely increase. I think the price you are getting is excellent. I think the prices will definately go up. The price of gas is way out of control now. I have my tickets to mexico for next November already. I dont want it to cost me an arm and a leg. alot of the airlines run sales on tuesdays I would book soon but check for the sales on tuesday.Whisper make sure to book now also make sure to  have some leway(?) as to when you arrive and when you leave.. They are overbooking flights and with airlines having to  shut down for inspection you don't want to be stranded if you need to be somewhere, so you need to make sure you can get where you need to without stressing.  If you can buy travel insurance I would do it because of the way  airlines are closing up and things happening.  We have been lucky when we fly, but usually what we do is rent a car for the time we are gone and use that instead of our own car to save wear and tear on our vehicle and this way we get to see more the sights too.  Why am I always the odd man out?

I say, sign up for Spirit Air's Club and watch the posts like a hawk.  My hubby just went back to MI for round trip in Feb.  The trip he just started he decided to splurge - he upgraded - round trip for 0.

Pip
Pip, you may be an odd man, but you're totally not out. Also remember to pay for your ticket with your credit card because that way if something does happen like the company going out of business, you contact your credit card company and they will stop payment or get you a credit for the ticket.  I do the same pip but sometimes you can't always get a deal and now adays with way things have been going for the airlines, I would be leary to fly because I would be afraid to get stuck somewhere far from home, but that is just goofy me.
