I wanted to post these youtube snippets for your entertainment. The first one is of a Detroit city council meeting where councilwoman Monica Conyers, wife of Congressman John Conyers, goes off on the council president calling him Shrek.

GO BARACK!!![/QUOTE  Excuse but I do take offense to that comment!  I am  a democratic supporter but I do not support Obama and I just do not see what is so wonderful about him.  Just because Oprah says we should vote for him does not mean I am going to go nuts and vote for him. I just don't feel he is ready for the office of president of course I feel  none of the candidates are.  Also lorster be careful who you accuse of not liking minorties just because some of us think  Ms Conyers was inappropriate in her behaviour does not mean we don't support minority candidates .  Ms Conyers as a reprensentative of the government needs to display civility and politeness to others whether or not she agrees with them.  From one democrat to another give it a break.

Me too Jas.  Race (or gender) hasn't been a thing I've considered when deciding where to cast my vote.  It's absurd for Lorster or anyone else to make the call that anyone who doesn't vote for Obama is racist .

So Linncn. Am I reading this right? You are ok with rude obnoxious white people but not rude obnoxious black people?
And I do care very much about the substance of a man. That is exactly why my vote goes to Obama. I have an issue with white supremists. I live about 10 miles from Barack's home, on the south side ..Michelle Obama grew up in the South Shore district, of the south side, daughter of a city worker, these are not affluent north shore areas of Chicago..

I will vote either way, Democrat/Republican, and white...but there was something about Barack, that mesmerized me, seeing him give the speech at the 2004 Democrat convention..

I don't have to list his qualifications here, if anyone was interested, they can look it up..After seeing him, in all these debates, i am sold on him, not because he is my Senator..Just like NM Bill Richardson,, and so many, have, we see something in him, who we want for a fresh new start...

Our current president didn't have more experience, being a governor of Texas..

There are a lot of crooked politics, besides Detroit, thats how it goes, and i am not going to bother defending my candidate anymore, it's useless, vote for who you want, but is this the place for such discussions?   And if Barack looses, i may not vote, or i may vote for MccainLinncn was being sarcastic. If Lorster really is dull witted enough to think I was declaring my racist beliefs, she must now explain how she supports a candidate that supports a racist, that had one preform his marriage ceremony, that had one baptise his own children.  She is either for it, which would make her pat me on the back for my supposed racism, or she would have to switch candidates.  But I know Lorster isn't really as ridiculous as she wants us to think, she's just being a bitch.

Let me clarify my previous statement. It was more directed at Linncn. She says MC is an embarrassment to the city but yet this current joke of a president has embarrassed our country more times than I can imagine. Not to mention his actions. We won't even go there. But yet, this is ok. I guess it is because he is a christian white guy who apparently is white enough. This president is an embarrassment and that is OK with you. I don't get it. This woman has not done any thing worse than our president. No Lorster, I was VERY embarrassed by Bill Clinton.  Not embarrassed at all ny Condoleza Rice.  Sorry to blow your silly theory.Well, actually I'm not sorry at all.

Well, I honestly believe Gore is above being presidential. He is better at winning Nobel Peace prizes and making the earth a bit greener and better. I would rather see him doing that...but then again, if he is on the ticket with Obama, that would be absolutely awesome!!!Awesome depends on your perspective.  I think if Gore gets on the ticket with Obama, they could very likely clean up. Linncn, I fins this kinda funny. I have had several debates with Liberal Dems and they always go off topic and start referring to GWB wish usually has nothing to do with the issue at hand. It's a disorder called keitholberitisI know, and really it doesn't matter whether you love him or hate him.  He's pretty much history now.  He's not running for President ever again.
