When Senator Obama's spiritual advisor made racist statements against the jews, Senator Obama said that he doesn't agree with everything that his spiritual advisor says but that he is still a good man.

When Senator Obama's spiritual advisor made racist remarks against white people, Senator Obama said that he doesn't agree with everything that his spiritual advisor says but that he is still a good man.

When Senator Obama's spiritual advisor claims the U.S. to be terrorists, Senator Obama said that he doesn't agree with everything that his spiritual advisor says but that he is still a good man.

When Senator Obama's spiritual advisor called the U.S the U.S of KKKA, Senator Obama said that he doesn't agree with everything that his spiritual advisor says but that he is still a good man.

When Senator Obama's spiritual advisor said God damn the united states, Senator Obama said that he doesn't agree with everything that his spiritual advisor says but that he is still a good man.

When Senator Obama's spiritual advisor said that Barack Obama is a politician and therefore acts and speaks as a politician, Senatator Obama realized that his spiritual leader had crossed the line, and Senator Obama denounced his spiritual advisor.

Sure does take a lot to get Senator Obama mad.
Look at the advertisements to the left.Lev.....YOU ARE THE NASTIEST EVIL TROUBLEMAKER TO EVER HAVE POSTED ON THIS BOARD.....I HOPE YOU ARE PROUD OF ALWAYS BRINGING YOUR HATEFUL MESSAGES TO THIS BOARD....YOU ARE BEYOND NASTY

So now we have all the "I told you so" people spouting, "I told you so." White America has finally found its excuse for not having to vote for Barack Obama - his pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, is a racist so that means that Barack Obama, because he attended Wright's church, is also a racist. It doesn't matter what the issues are any longer because we have our excuse.

Blaming Obama for what his pastor said is like blaming all the good-Catholics for the sexual abuse scandal because they still attend church. Do you still believe in your church? Of course you do.

How about the outlandish statements made by our great white preachers, such as Pat Robertson or the late Jerry Falwell. Do we hold their congregations responsible for what they have said. Or do we even remember those comments? Probably not, but white Americans certainly will remember and condemn a man who happened to be apart of a congregation where the pastor was exposing this country of its prejudices and practicing his legal right to freedom of speech.

Hey Kristen!

I'm a white American and I'm voting for Obama!  Good catch on some of the preachers mentioned.

Pip

Wow Kristen. Lev said what was true.  You might not like the truth, but Lev isn't nasty for saying it.   Obama did overlook his Pastor's racism and then he threw him under the bus when their association got too sticky.

I don't think Obama is a man of weak character because I'm white or he's black.  I think that because of his words and actions.
I really haven't been following this Rev. Wright stuff, I don't have cable or satellite, that serves up the same ole thing 24/7.  In this presidential race, I want to hear about what we are going to do about Iraq and Afganistan, I want to hear about how to deal with rising health care costs, rising gas prices, rising food prices, unemployment, the farm bill, education.  In my opinion, the media is spending too much time on this subject, time that could be better spent informing citizens about critical issues facing our country.

And, this isn't the first time we've heard provocative remarks from a religious leader.  Remarks from evangelist Pastor Jerry Falwell after the collapse of the World Trader Center on 9/11:

"I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen.'"

Let's refocus on the issues facing our country, there's a lot at stake.

C'mon, don't hold back, say what you really mean. Seriously Kristen, anybody that belongs to a pro african church, pro white church, I have a problem with them, white or black, I don't want them as neighbors, let alone my president. Long before this Wright garbage came up (excuse me for not using the word reverend when speaking of Wright) I had investigated Senator Obama's church and had a problem with it being a "pro african" policy church. For me to belong to a church, i would have to believe that the church and the leader was of the spirit. When a spiritual advisor speaks not from the spirit, the spiritual advisor is not of the spirit, it's that simple and those following him or her are following a false leader. There is no good and bad in the spirit. Certainly you would not follow a spiritual leader that was outside of the spirit, would you? Ever heard of this statement? My sheep know my voice, anothers' they will not follow.

Kristen, If Senator Obama were white, he would never had the opportunity to be the President and if he had run for president, he wouldn't have made it this far. He's done nothing. He has no experience. 92% of blacks support Senator Obama, Why? Is that some of the predjudices that you speak of? Of course not, blacks just find Senator Obama more experienced and qualified, right?

I'm not blaming Senator Obama for what his Pastor said, I'm blaming him for following him. He heard his voice and followed that shepard. He knew what his church stands for and he knew what Wright stood for.

I don't know about what Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell said and I don't care, they are nothing to me, nothing.

And what's that's stuff you're spewing about "white america"  finally having an excuse to not vote for Senator Obama?

One more thing Kristen, in my post that I posted did I post something that was untrue because if I did, you would have a valid reason for losin' it but I think you lost it because you have a larger problem than rheumatoid arthritis, and believe me, no offense meant.

LEV
LMAO Joy!  Flaw-well said that???

True, we need to focus on issues - to me, Obama is the *most likely* to actually help those of us with chronic illnesses.  Seems that moved to my top priority - beating out my feminist leanings.  Why is that, do you suppose?

Hugs,

Pip
P.S.  I saw a bit of CNN coverage of Reverend Wright and was moved by his eloquence.  I do think the media takes things out of proportion - look at the Denzel Washington non-scandle.  The offended parties said - ah, out of context.  But THAT part never gets mentioned.  Sigh.  Media=scandle mongering=better ratings.  Something ELSE wrong with the US.
Wright is a bit of a wacko and BHO now realizes it and has gone into damage control. Don't forget to consider who owns the media, as well.

Shouldn't this be OT (off topic) and under the conservatives thread?
