Yep, within a quarter of a mile from where I live, a 5 yr old was playing in his own front yard and was nearly abducted. That is too close for me.

It was daytime, it was a beautiful day, and the child knew enough to run up to his home and tell his mother. The police and school was notified immediately as were all parents of school aged children.

This used to be a safe neighborhood. I used to like it here.
Oh my, what a smart child. It's too bad we cannot feel safe enough to let our children play in our own yard.it is getting scarey out there..a parents worst nightmare.

Boney
How awful, unfortunately society has bred these animals, there is no discipline anymore, these people feel they can do what they want when they want, my husband and I are in agreeance, God forbid that anything should ever happen, but I would gladly go to jail after getting my revenge!  Regards Janie. It hasbeen a total shock to so many around here. This neighborhood has a beginning price of 0,000 ranging to over 0,000. Quiet and calm, peaceful with police cruising through the area, construction of new homes and many neighbors who homeschool and are at home. It is a shock!

I used to be frightened for my own children  during their young years almost needlessly compared to now. People are so cruel. They think they can just do anything, including stealing a child from their front yard.

You can rest assurred that my grandson will never be out of my sight, ever. My daughter and fiance' have spoken of moving either to Indiana or where ever  they can find work, obviously they will not remain in Michigan....no work.

My biggest mistake in my life was to move here, but it turned out well for my daughter because she found the right guy for her and his family is very accepting of her and excited about the new baby........so am I!  :)

Just wanted everyone to know that this child stealing social epidemic can happen very close to home and the ONLY reason why I know of it  is because I am good friends with a neighbor here that has school aged children....other than that it has been kept very quiet.

I agree, these people are animals.......   years ago a good friend of mine took her son to King's Island, he was abducted.......they locked all entrances and the only thing that saved little Scotty was when a man was carrying him out ( Scotty had been drugged)  her father noticed and identified his little tennis shoes.....his hair had been cut and his clothes changed. He was 2 or 3 yrs old at the time....he and my daughter are about the same age, so that was about 18 years ago......it never seems to change does it?

Yep, now one of the first thing we must teach children from a very young age....is all about strangers and to RUUUUUUN and SCREAM all the way to their front door...........their own front door.

BTW: I was looking at photos at Meijer about 2 weeks ago and this darling little girl was with her parents and 2 brothers. The little girl came towards me and started babbling  to  me , jibbering and yacking up a storm.... I had to bend down and tell her....."sweety, I am a stranger  to you, go back over there to your mom and dad". They  both thanked me. THey said she will walk up to anyone and everyone and do that.  .......well they need to teach her NOT TO  DO THAT!
