besides whole body hurting, my hands fall so asleep that it hurts so bad. if i lay on my hip (side) to long i have excrutiating pain. i thought all of this was from my artificial disc replacement in july (lumbar) but my back is fine. my buttocks and hips are what hurts. again, my hands were killing me and i couldn't go back to sleep. i cant wait to find out if its RA. if not, i have no idea what it could be. scary. thanks y'all. jason

I'm sorry you're hurting Jason!I am up every night hurting too!! In different places, but the hands and upper arms always hurt at night. My hands fall asleep too. I feel your pain!! I have not been diagnosed yet, am waiting to see rheumy, but have all of the symptoms. Be glad you are getting in next week!!When my internist referred me, my appt. was 7 weeks away!! 4 weeks have gone by, I have 3 left. I have tried to get in earlier because it's getting harder and harder and I can't get any sleep at night, but no such luck. I've heard if it's not RA, it could be a weird virus, lyme disease, or some other type of arthritis (there are over 100 types-wow). I'm not sure what to hope for, right now I just want to know what it is more than anything and start getting some real treatment. It does help to talk to others though going through the same thing. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? Hope you feel better today!!
Jenn
Hi Jason
I went throught the exact same thing last year before I was diagnosed. My arms and hands hurt so bad I couldn't stand it at night. Turns out the RA gave me carpel tunnel in both hands. Had surgery for it. That, along with the meds, fixed the problem. Hope you to a rheumy soon and get help.
Susan thanks everyone, i have a great pain doctor. he thought my si joints were inflamed. this is after my artificial disc replacement. all i need, more problems. i take percocet for pain. i hate taking it because it effects my mood and energy levels too. thanks again for your support. if any of you need anything let me know. it's strange that strangers are more supportive than your own family. jason 32 year old male Hi Jason.. (nice name by the way...lol, my oldest son's name) My hands used to hurt a lot too, in fact they were always my nemisis. They would tingle, fall asleep, ache... throb...the whole works. I hope you get a diagnosis soon so you can start to walk the recovery road. Good luck hun. Jackie
