Boney

Hi Boney, I have it, and I have a heel spur causing plantar fasciitis, it is painful to walk on, antiinflammatories are the go, but  I cannot take them  hi janie a heel spur causing plantar fascilitis .

Ohh, I feel for you Boney.   The balls of my feet are the worst affected part of my bod. now with the heels coming a close second.  Every step is painful - they've been like this for years.  Thank god most of the walking I do each day takes me to something I find rewarding - ie my animals

The Rheumys tell me there is too much damage in my feet to ever expect an improvement

I hope you're able to figure out what's going on quickly. Make sure you call your doc and let them know what's going on.
My son has suffered with a condition called Sever's disease for the past couple of years.  Children don't get plantar fasciaitis, they get Sever's.  The pain is similar to what you describe and we manage it with stretching, icing, and nsaids.  I am pretty sure these stretches would be helpful to you as well and they are really easy.  You should do them in the morning before your feet even hit the floor to get out of bed, and then again in the evening before you go to bed.

The first one involves a soup can.  Place your foot on top of the soup can so that it fits in the arch of your foot.  Gently roll the can back and forth in the arch for 30 seconds, then repeat on the other side.

For the next stretch you can use a belt or towel.  Sit with your legs stretched out straight in front of you.  Take the belt and loop it around the ball of your foot with an end in each one of your hands.  Gently pull on the belt until you feel the stretch and hold for 30 seconds.  Repeat on the other foot.  Do 3-5 reps on each side.

In the third stretch you face a wall with one foot ahead of the other.  Lean your upper body into the wall while you drop the heel of the back foot down to stretch - hold for 30 seconds and then switch sides.  Your front leg is slightly bent and your back leg is straight.  You will feel the stretch if you are doing it correctly.

Finally, ice is great for those burning heels.  Get a gel type ice pack that will mold around your heel.

Maybe this will help until you have time to get into the doctor to figure out what is going on.  I hope so!
hi guys thanks for the replies  ..i will have a go at these exercises..

just wonderd if anybodys toes are off the floor ..when foot is on the floor
allthough my toes have been going up before heel problem...

graciesmom i hope your son is doing ok. and i wish him well.. Hi Boney, I don't have much problem with ankles and knees since starting Humira.  Post Humira I had to wear big, black, horrible lace up ankle supports that enclosed my feet and went half way up my calves.   I was so pleased to see the arse end of them when I started Humira as it was a marrathon effort just to get the buggers on  Yep, I get immense burning pain in my thighs twice a day without fail after walking/working.  I think this could be related more to Fibro (but I could be wrong) because the outside of my thighs are very tender to the touch 24/7 whether I've exercised or not.

Blue colouring of toes and fingers usually relates to Raynauds (sp)  I was diagnosed with this too many years ago but since we shifted from an area which has extremely cold winters to a milder climate,  I've not had much trouble with this.

I am forever on the lookout for something that may help with my feet.   I keep breaking the toe next to the big one which alters the way I walk.  It's a bad break and the toe faces West.  The best I can do is tape it to the big toe each day and this slightly eases that particular pain.

I started taking a magnesium supplement this week in the hope it will help with the painful thigh muscles.   The chemist said I should know within a couple of days if it's effective or not.  Sadly there's been no relief so far

I'm going to give the exercises that ? (sorry, can't flip back to the page to see the name of the poster
