I hope it is not too much to ask... and will not offend you or anything.

Iread on another post where you said the swelling in your ankles is way down. I was wondering if you would share pics of that with us? I remember what the other pics you shared looked like. I would like to see how well the Orencia has done for you. Yes, I'm highly offended that you want to see my ankles....joonie u so crazee!  Of course you can see my ankles!  I've even got my toes painted now (and my legs shaved).  I just wish I had taken a photo of my "fred flintstone" feet, but they were so huge I couldn't bear it and the massive change is based on that.  There's definitely still swelling, but it's much improved.

For some comparison, here's February 21st, March 15th and tonight:

Like I said in the other post, I don't want to get too excited because the same thing happened when I started Rituxan, but then nothing happened after that.  I just hope this is a good sign with the Orencia.

I think this is the pic you saw before, which was from November I believe:

OH YEAH!!! You can see it! Pretty cool!

Well, I do hope the Orencia does a better job than Rituxan did. Isn't Rituxan an every 8 weeks infusion? Where as Orencia is every once a month.

Well... I hope the Orencia does wonders for you!

joonie2008-05-08 22:13:35Actually the Rituxan is like once every 6 months or even longer.  It seems that Orencia tends to work more quickly, so I'm crossing my fingers!  Thanks, joonie.
I thought it was every 6 months, but was not sure.

Why did your RD opt to put you on the biological that was every 6 months, instead of one that you can get almost monthly? I would think with the problems and swelling you have that once every 6 months would not work as well.

I believe the Rituxan is once every six months because it is a more powerful med.  It is certainly a longer infusion (4-6 hours verus 30-60 minutes).  Also if I remember correctly, Rituxan has been around longer, so I think that may have been a factor as well.

Oh... Ok! Good Luck with the Orencia!Wow!  I am so sorry you have to deal with that.  It puts the amount of swelling I have in perspective.  I just now started some in my ankle, and it's just like the size of a marble.  I hope the relief lasts!!!!
