will someone please tell me where the pain is for the hips?  it's the only place left without pain so far, and i've had this pain right on top of the hip at the side lately (pretend you're mad with hands on hips, right there).

it's only on one side, but the pain is really a 9+, I don't wake up with it, it usually hits at work, or when i'm on my feet a while.  I've ruined 3 uniforms by slashing through the waist with sissors because i can't stand the pressure there.  it's happened now and then for a few days and gone away, but this time its lasted for about 2 weeks. please tell me if anyone else has had this

ps:  joonie, i too have the jaw, mine is really stiff and when i chew anything i'm sure everyone hears it snap and crack, it can really hurt.

Mary,  I have EXTREME Pain exactly where you describe and in the joint where your sit bones are and where my hip socket is.  I would say the pain where you describe is the most constant.  It never goes away some people experience their hip pain exactly where you describe, others its deeper and seems more like groin pain!  my hip pain isn't on the sides or what feels like groin pain, it's more at the back of my hips, very deep...where my lower back and hips meet.  my old rheumy couldn't say if my back pain cascaded into hip pain or if my hip pain caused by RA, OA, congenital dysplasia and osteoporosis, caused the back pain.

thanks for your answers, roxy and wayney. the pain is so bad, but i couldn't associate it with a joint, but I guess thats what it is.  Maybe if the insurance approves the remicade, I'll get some relief.  also, roxy have you ever tried ultram, it helps me so much more than darvosett did.  it seems really good for joint pain.

I have ultram.  I might try taking it this morning.  I am so sick of the narcotic feeling
