These have all become (according to the ENT Consult), chronic since the RA. I have to say that before the Ra if I itched my eyes the jelly bit round the pupil swelled, now the whole eye and under eye swell terribly.... thats a good reason not to itch
I hate even thinking of one more thing, i have to give up.. but Pork sigh, i've noticed
a big difference and guess what i ate today!! LOL (nothing else much in fridge)..
but i love piggies, so maybe it'll be good for me..
I found out I was allergic to sulfa and I also break out in rashes from mtx, humira and enbrel. I now take enbrel and take benedryl a half hour before shot and take it for two days every four hours. A couple of weeks ago, I had to go to prompt care for a shot because the benedryl wasn't working and I was broke out on face, neck, arms, legs, and back. I was itching all over. I also had to take benedryl with the humira. I also have allergies to birds, cats, dogs, anything with dander/fur, grass, flowers, seasonal. I don't have allergies to shellfish when I eat it but found out when we were down in MS that I can't peel raw shrimp. My hands broke out and were so swollen I couldn't bend my fingers. I can't go to lil sis's house because she has 3 cats and 2 dogs and I can't take benedryl and stay awake. I have left her house before with one eye swollen shut and itching like crazy. As far back as I can remember I have had allergies. My mom says my eyes and nose were always running. It's really bad in the spring. Geez, now I'm itching just thinking/writing about it. LOLI have to watch for some food allergies and I have to be careful around anything from the pine tree family, if I get stuck by a needle from a pine tree, I start swelling and have breathing problems. My daughter has a severe allergic reaction to any pesticides whatso ever. My allergies have always been there even before my auto-immune problems.
I was never sick before Ra , No allergies no nothing.
I always had hayfever type allergies and allergies to cats and dogs and such. I became aware of my medication allergies (mostly antibiotics) after taking the medications. These all happened years and years ago so I don't think they were associated with the RA at all. I don't know if you can say I developed the allergies from taking the meds or that I was already allergic and just became aware of it when I took the meds. Sort of a 'which came first the chicken or the egg' type of thing.
