Hi All,

I am fairly new to RA and have been responding quite well to my treatment.  However, this morning I was really stiff and when I got out of bed, the pain in my feet and ankles was like it was before I was on plaquinel.  It took me almost an hour or more of hobbling around to feel a little bit better.  It used to take two to three hours so I shouldn't complain.

The only difference is the weather here on the east coast has been awfully wet and chilly and I was wondering if that may contribute to my stiffness and soreness this morning.  Last night I just couldn't get warm, no matter what.  I sure hope so...I was really starting to feel so much better and am hoping RA does get affected by weather.

I hope you are all doing well and thanks for listening.

East Coast girl here too!!

I feel some differences at times due to the weather... and cold and damp is the worst of it for me...

I heat up a microwaveable pad and put my feet on it.. or lay it under my joint that's bothering me.

Glad you're doing so well on your meds... hopefully this is just a little burp in your recovery!!

ETA:  did you do a little more than usual this weekend?  sometimes that affects me alot!

It appears some people do and some people don't.

Hope that's all it is for you and you start feeling better soon

the weather definitely effects my RA- the fronts - the different pressures - cold wet and humidity.   i do best when it is cold and dry or warm clear and dry.  this is not the typical weather here in memphis, but i truly enjoy it when we have clear days and the ground is not damp.   but i know many people who are not affected by the weather who have RA but i definitely am.  i usually can predict a change in weather a day in advance!   wonderwoman

Over the winter I was having all thes little flare ups.  Last time I saw my RD he said that many of his RA patients came in saying the same thing.  He thought it must be at least in part due to the weather, so he didn't want to make any changes in my meds until a little more time passed.  Also, many people on the board notice weather, especially wet weather, plays a role.

Hi,

Thanks for the information; it's nice to have a group of fellow sufferers share their experiences.  On Saturday, I was also working in the garden and it was wet and chilly.  I guess the combination didn't help me.  I have to say that I usually feel better when it's dry whether it's hot or cold.  I guess the damp humid stuff gets me.

I'm praying for warm and dry days here soon!!!  Hiking_gal
The weather bothers me too. Any kind of precipatation, snow, sleet, rain. Humidity also does too. I can usually tell when it's going to rain a day in advanced too. Also hot, humid, summer days make me hurt. I live in central IL which is cold and snowy in winter, hot and humid in summer. I want to move to Vegas or AZ!I'm on the East Coast too.  These weeks of cold rain are killing me.  This past weekend I was moving like a 90 y.o.  Depressing as hell. Oh well, sunny days ahead????hi hiking gal,  Welcome to the board...

ohh yeah, I've always been weather sensitive, even wayy before the RA.. and now w/ the RA definately!!

I've become quite spoiled, bc i live in the land of Sunshine and

Love it!! southern ca!~ makes a huge diff.. but those occassional cooler days.. OW..

Hi All,
Thanks so much for your input.  Today is sunny and dry so hopefully things will improve.  Last night was terrible but this morning was not as bad as it was yesterday.  I was always sensitive to the wet conditions but now that it's full blown RA...watch out.

Hope you are all well....Hiking_gal
