This was on CBS News last night.  The former head of the National Institute of Health voices concern over vaccines:

Suzanne2008-05-13 07:19:16Dr. Healy:
"What we’re seeing in the bulk of the population: vaccines are safe," said Healy. "But there may be this susceptible group. The fact that there is concern, that you don’t want to know that susceptible group is a real disappointment to me. If you know that susceptible group, you can save those children. If you turn your back on the notion that there is a susceptible group… what can I say?"
I don't know why that link doesn't work; click on CBS News at the top left, and you can find the story on that page.  There is a video version, then a text version below. Try this:

Well, that doesn't surprise me. I'm glad she spoke out. Of course, now people will start discrediting her after her long years of service and esteem, rather than give credence to what she is saying.

"The more she dug, she says, the more she came to believe the government and medical establishment were intentionally avoiding the question because they were afraid of the answer."Gimpy-a-gogo2008-05-13 07:55:57Here is a 'rebuttal', so to speak:

My opinion is that this writer and many of the comment writers assume everyone (except them) is so clueless that simply hearing a newscast about studying which children might be put at risk from a vaccine translates into never wanting your child vaccinated again.

I am the mother of a child I am desperate to get up to date on vaccines, being advised not to.  Even if they start studying this now, it will too late for my daughter before they come to a resolution.
Suzanne,

Is it because of JRA or something else that you have been advised not to get vaccines?  My sister had ITP as a child, my dad has Addison's, I have RA.  So we all have autoimmune issues.  And my two sons (1 and 3) are getting vaccines like crazy.  There's a new one every year.  Chickenpox, rotavirus (3 year old didn't get vaccine and got that on his own, and I truly understand the vaccines are worthwhile!)

Just curious why you got this advice
