When my wrist first flared, and when it was at its worst, I had a red area on my hand, almost as dark as a bruise.

After I started on Mobic/MTX my left ankle began to flare a wee bit.  It's not usually too painful unless I tried to run and sometimes on stairs, but there is a little bit of swelling, and a light red spot the size of a dime.

My shoulders have started to bother me the last few weeks.  My right shoulder especially, particularly at night and first thing in the morning.  This morning, I noticed that I had a red spot on the back of both of my shoulders!  Not exactly where the pain is centered though.  And the pain is only with movement (or lying on my side).  The one on my left shoulder (that only hurts with hard touch, not movement!) is the size of a quarter.  On my right shoulder, it is bigger.

It looks like a sunburn--not rashy.  I wonder if my shoulders are about to get worse?

Anyone else?

Thanks for letting me share. I don't know!  Maybe I have swelling there and resulting redness and it's not painful because of the mobic?  Now I'm starting to think, does it itch?  Which it doesn't, but the thought is making it itch. Yesterday after work I was thinking "wow I feel great today" (except the wrist) so I was surprised when I saw it, even though my shoulders have been sore.hi katie i have ra in the shoulders. they have never gone red even when
i cant move my arms.. maybe  someon else here has experienced this
maybe worth getting it checked out..

Boney     can you post a picture of the red spots?I may do that later...it's very strange!katieG, I hope you can post a pic. I also have a red spot /on front of shoulder  and latley I noticed one on the back of my shoulder.Iwanted to compare mine with yours, but I don't have a camera.
