This just shows that all studies should be taken with a grain of salt, everyone is different.  My first son was born in 2004, and I breastfed him for 20 months.  RA really developed while I was breastfeeding my second son, and I had to stop at 11 months so I could go on Mobic (my choice, I could have risked it and continued).

Maybe this applies more to women who develop RA later in life?  Or, I was just really prone to develop it in the first place.
I nursed all three of my kids.  My oldest is 24, youngest 16 and I'm 44. Developed RA a year ago.  Pass the salt!no Boobs    My sister nursed all four of her kids, got RA.  I nursed my two for one year each, now have an autoimmune disease with some RA markers.  Go figure.  I tried to breast feed ....but my kids said I don't want it... So look at me now !  Maybe they knew it was tainted milk then nothing surprises me  LOL ........Anut

Boney -u-crack me up.......

I have had JRA and then changed to RA since I was about 7 and now I am a mommy. I just had my second child and she just turned 3 months. I am finding it harder to breastfeed her as long as I did with my first child who I nursed for 7 months. It seems like my RA goes away for the most part during the pregnancy and then comes back with a vengeance a few months after. I am torn. I want to give my baby the best but am no good to anyone like this. I am seriously stiff and limping until like 2pm. I get a bit of relief and than am back to feeling lousy by 8pm. I breastfed both kids and got RA after 2nd one born. Now I need an RA free body AND IMPLANTS.me to   You all have such good senses of humor.  I love it.  I also breastfed all four of my kids and have RA.  strange nobody here.. whith Boobs that is...  was sheilded

from RA ....  wonder why... Boobs to big
