OT Dairy Intolerance -you will not believe this! | Arthritis Information

Share

All the family have been gluten and dairy free for about 3/4 years.  And I really mean totally, 100%.  Anyway, I know the other members of my family will never be able to eat dairy, but I thought I might try to introduce a little organic live yogurt into my diet, so I bought some and put the CLOSED small pots in the fridge.

And I swear this is true!.... Within a week of these pots (which I repeat are CLOSED!) being in the fridge my daughter is off school with severely infected ears, lethargic and not feeling well, all the symptoms she had before we took her off the gluten and dairy!  She is on the antibiotics again!!!

I know that there is a connection between these closed yogurt pots in the fridge and the resurgence of the dairy intolerance....

If anyone can explain how dairy peptides get out of closed yogurt pots and into another persons body who is not eating the yogurt I would love to know!!!

Confused,

Anna
Magic?

Unrelated coincidence?

Something she got in school?  Call the teacher - is anybody else out sick?  They are petrie dishes at this age.

Hi all,

I think it's something to do with cross contamination, but I haven't had to deal with it before because everyone in the family inc  myself has been totally off the dairy and gluten.    But
I can't for the life of me think of where the cross contamination is taking place.

This morning I have replaced everything plastic that could have come into contact with the yogurt and have now placed the sealed pots in an airtight, sealed, container, in the fridge.   Also I have thrown out any spoons I might have used eating the yogurt and have bought disposable plastic spoons which I will throw out after eating a yogurt.

Hopefully these things will get everything back on an even keel, and deal with any cross contamination that may be occurring.

Anna
