What do numbers mean? | Arthritis Information

When I was first diagnosed with RA, I wrote down these numbers.   Sed Rate = 4; Rh factor = 72; CCP (maybe CRP?) = 3.

I have no idea where these numbers fall in the scheme of normalcy.  Can someone help me out?

I'm at work. When I get home if you don't have the answer I'll pull out my last report. It has the ranges printed out.

From memory I'd say your sed rate is good. I think the CRP is supposed to be less than .08...but don't quote me on this. The old memory she's not what she once was.
I regularly have elevated SedRate but it's on the low side of elevated at 25. I'd definately say yours is fine at 4hi lake trash my sed rate has ranged  between 98 and 2 ..  i dont know what
my crp was but recently 17  my wbc is 22 and has been high scince ra

OK I pulled the report:

Reference Range
ESR- (sed rate)                          0-20
CRP                                          <0.8

They haven't tested  my  RH factor after my dx. Not sure why.
If you want ranges for any other tests let me know.
Boy those number look pretty good to me.  My RF was 434.  How did they diagnose you with RA with low numbers like that or were these numbers after you started treatment?

Jeanne
oh and my initial sed rate was 80.

Jeanne
Jeanne - how did they diagnose me with RA having those numbers?  I don't know.  All I can say, is that I went in complaining of waking up one morning with suddenly both knees hurting, stiff, but better after moving around a bit; then a few weeks later both feet hurting to the point of not being able to touch them without pain.  In addition to the bloodwork, they x-rayed my feet.  From there they said RA.  They gave me sulfasalazine which almost immediately got rid of the pain.  You think they misdiagnosed???

Gwen

I had relatively low numbers as well: RA: 54, SED: 22, and CCP: 40 (should be <5.0)  CRP was normal.     I'm not sure that the test results really mean much overall - while the results can help determine if you have RA, I thought symptoms were more important.
