I have had ankle, top of foot almost to the begining of my toes pain for quite some time.  I had a rheumatoid factor test and sed rate which were normal.  The pain has gotten way worse, pain in the morning is really bad and very stiff, but it really last's all day and now I have pain in both knees also.  I got another rheumatoid factor and it is now elevated - 160 I think but SED rate is normal at 11.  I do not have pain and swelling or redness which I read is a big factor in RA.  I don't see my rheumatologis until Friday and I think he is just going to start treating me for, my question is could this still be RA or not and will I ever know for sure?

Sorry for your frustration Reegie- I think a lot of people start out the same way while being diagnosed. I was tested for eveything under the sun the moon & the stars. I was finally diagnosed using more than just blood results.

Hope it doesn't take too long for you. I find heat always helps my aches. Do you have a heating pad or one of those microbuddies you put in the microwave? It feel good to wrap the area in pain.
I started off with a RF of 710 and was in massive pain but very little swelling and no redness. have you been checked for gout?hi reegie just wanted to say welcome to you andhope you get diagnosis soon

HI Reegie.. welcome.. and no matter what it is causing your foot discomfort... dont' give up.  Eventually they WILL figure it out..Hello and Welcome!!!

I was diagnosed 1 1/2 years ago. I have pain widespread but never have redness and the only swelling I have noticed is in my hands.

Keep up with your RD and bloodtests.  It looks like things are changing for you already.  Your RD will get to the bottom of this.  Keeping a daily journal of your symtpoms is a great way to document everything that is going on.  It is easy to forget some things between appts!

Good luck and welcome aboard!
