The pain is WHERE??? | Arthritis Information

Does anyone else have pain in weird spots where there really isn't a joint?  At least I don't think there's one there.

Usually I have the regular pain in the feet, hands, shoulders, hips and knees but now I have the worst pain in the "tendon" just below your groin, like when you do leg lifts to the side or do splits and the inside of your leg way up there stretches...THAT one.  Then again maybe that's a leg joint?

I'm newly diagnosed (January 08) and still learning but this is weird.  I'm so scared that I'm getting ready to have a flare, which will piss me off because I'm on my 8th week on Enbrel.
Hi and welcome to AI!

You can do splits?  WoW!

Don't be scared - yes, joints and tendons can be effected.  You will find what you need to heal.

thats where your hip joint isHi Audrey, Buckeye is right, that pain is coming from your hip, strange I know, but I have it there too, and my RD says my hip joints are playing up!  Best of luck in pain relief, hugs Janie. Hi Audrey, yep, they're right.  That's your hip joint hurting.  Mine hurts but it's from OA not RA.  A hot bath might help if you can get in and out of the tub.  LindyWell thank you all, I was thinking it was where my upper leg met my hip but usually the pain is on the outer side of leg not the inner side.  And NO I can't do the splits, not anymore at least, lol.
I'm so glad that I found this place, I don't know much about RA, still researching and all but I've wanted to talk to others that have it instead of always aking my Dr. who probably thinks I'm crazy already.
Another thing, how often do people have flares, even when their meds are working as they should.  I've heard that occasionally you'll have flares regardless of whether or not your meds are working, so I was wondering when I'm gonna be bedridden again.
Audrey, if your meds are working you're not going to be bedridden again.  You'll have aches and a few minor pains if you're in clinical remission but believe me it's nothing like a flare.  I'm in clinical remission for the first time in 10 years and any pain I have is from damage and psoriatic arthritis that isn't in remission.   If you're still having daily symptoms of inflammation then you're not in remission and need your meds tweaked or a change in meds.  Good luck and welcome to the forum.  I'm glad you found us.  Lindy
