does this make sense? | Arthritis Information

I tried meloxicam, ultram and nothing happened.

I used 2 naproxen pills and pure bliss.

Naproxen takes about 45% of my pain right out which is godly, but the others won't touch it.

Does this make sense?

It makes as much sense as everything else around here.  Each person reacts differently to different meds and naproxen is chemically different than those other two meds, so maybe that's just what you needed.  Glad it is helping!

[QUOTE=bubbagump]I tried meloxicam, ultram and nothing happened.   It is written in my medical records that after surgery I do NOT want a morphine pump - I want 2 regular vicodin tablets and 1 regular Coca-cola. You know, i get a problem with numbing things.  From dentist office to surgeries, whenever they want to use something that numbs, it doesn't work until they triple it.  With surgery, they just end up knocking me out.I think if you add a tummy protector, your Naproxen may be fine? I am not a doctor of course, but my RD added Prevacid with my Piroxicam and told me to take them at the same time to help protect the tummy. I can't take naprosen.. I'm one of .0001% that have vision issues with that NSAID... I take DayPro and it does the same or better for me..

I'm glad you found something that works!!
naproxen targets the inflammtion first and foremost while the others are straight pain relievers.  It does seem logical that you get better pain relief if you minimize the cause of the painI researched OTC pain relievers, and naproxen was the number one choice of three out of four doctors for arthritis pain relief.  Maybe it was five out of six.  Jas, the morphine doesn't do anything for me either (although at least it doesn't make me throw up).  After surgery they gave me morphine, and I was asking "did you put it in yet?" and they said I should be feeling it already.  They upped it and still nothing.  Good old Vicodin for me.  And definitely Coca-Cola, food of the gods.
