Arthritis Information -anyone got deformed feet

I have the ugliest most deformed feet you could never want to have. When I was diagnosed many years ago my problems were with my upper body . arms wrist ,hands ,ears and throat. then it moved to my feet and my toes are all curled up around each other and the bottoms of my feet have Ra bumps on them which make it hard to walk even on a good day. I can only wear soft ,elastic shoes . Anyone else got this problem?          Oh ! how did you get the list of your drugs on the bottom of your posts?

There is a thread going on in the Ra part of the forum on feet
and there are people there that can relate to what you are
going through with your feet.
Welcome here , and you are going to learn so much on the
forum.

yeah...my feet are really bad.  makes buying shoes difficult.  i've been told I need surgery, but i've been putting it off for now.Hi Mello, welcome yes my feet are deformed also, I have toes that overlap and also have marble size swellings on ball of foot area. sorry you are sufferring, what has helped me an insole  called powersteps. JanI have the same problem.  I read somewhere that RA causes hammer toes.  I have had two failed surgeries.  I went to a shoe store that specializes in feet and ended up with ugly black oxfords with rocker soles (hate them) and orthotics that cost a ton.  They make me stagger around.  My left foot turns in and I have a bone protruding from my arch.  Now the right one is doing the same thing.   It sure puts the kabosh on the wardrobe, because I can't wear skirts or dresses with these ugly shoes. thought I was the only one who had ugly feet,  so sorry I have so much company.  Hugs to you all.[QUOTE=mello]I have the ugliest most deformed feet you could never want to have. Hello Mello

I also have very deformed feet, I get upset when I see women with perfect feet, nail polish plus hi-heels (why me).  Like you R A started in my upper body mostly my hands, now I have artifical knuckle joints in both hands, plus had knee replacement on my left knee this past January.
Buying shoes is a nitghtmare, New Balance work for me as they have wide widths, but can only wear them for a short time, I wear crocs indoors.  I miss  going walking with my husband we used to spend many hour walking.

When I am having a bad day I listen to my meditation cd's puts a new perspective on my day.

Wishing you a pain free day

Have to say I am pain free most of the time having been on Enbrel since last September

Yes, I have just found out how deformed they are and how much damage is there.  I do wear crocks and I did find a pair of merrils that I could fit on.  I hate the whole feet thing and I don't know if I am going to have surgery or not...which stinks....
