Thanks for the reminder Boney.

Hope all is well watching wolf!
Yep, I hope everything is ok.I heard from watchingwolf on the 22nd, Thursday.  There has been some slight improvement with her Mom, but she was still in ICU and its uncertain how long she'll need to be there.   She continues to need our prayers that her Mom will rally and be better soon.

hi joie thanks for the info..   Hello To All: A quick update on my mom. She was in ICU for a week and then put in a regular room; Two days later she went back to ICU and was there for two more days; then back to a regular room. Through all of this we had to face the fact that the pneumonia really left her in a weakened condition and from now on she will require nursing home care.   Her mind is sharp as a tack and she realizes she can no longer return to assisted living.

So my sisters and I have been busy taking care of the details for her to enter the nursing home. However, it will be about a week before there will be a room opening (we insisted she have a private room) so she will be in "swing bed" at the hospital.

This week-end my DH and I will be packing her things. This isn't a responsibility any child wants.  However, it must be done.

The upside of all this is that because of the wonderful care and concern for my mom by the staff of the hospital she is still with us.  As I said before, "No matter how old you are you don't want ever to lose a parent."

Thank You Everyone for your prayers and concern. You all are a terrific bunch of people.

You All "Take Care" & "Gentle Hugs"

I'll be back on the board - just don't know when.  LOL

watchingwolf2008-05-29 10:51:04So glad to hear she is on the mend!

I'll say some more prayers that the transistion to a nursing home will not be a hard one for her and your family. I'm sure there are a lot of emotional things going on with that decision as well.
WW,

That is such good news that your Mother will soon be released from hospital.  And thats a good idea to have a private room at the nursing home.  I was in a nursing home for 3 months after hip surgeries and eventually got a private room, one can rest better if they don't have a roomie and nurses coming and going at all hours.  Good luck, you've been through a lot, take care and hope your Mom gets better and stronger.

"YOU ARE ALL SO LOVING!"  THERE ARE TIMES WHEN WORDS EVEN FAIL ME.......

THEN THERE'S TODAY:

MY KINDEST OF KINDEST SIL CALLED AND HE WAS CRYING.  HIS MOM HAS ADVANCED BONE CANCER AND WENT IN FOR AN MRI TO DETERMINE WHEN SHE UNDERGO MORE CHEMO.  HOWEVER, THE DOCTOR SAID THAT AT THIS TIME THERE IS WAS NO POINT AND THAT HAVING HOSPICE COME IN WOULD BE A GOOD WAY TO GO.  THE FAMILY ALSO KNOWS THAT SHE QUITE LIKELY WON'T SEE THE END OF SUMMER.
MINUTES LATER DD (DARLING DAUGHTER) CALLED IN TEARS, OF COURSE, TO SHARE HER SORROW IN THIS SITUATION. DD AND MIL ARE VERY CLOSE, TOO.

WE ALL NEED PRAYERS!!  FOR MY DD's MIL PRAY THAT SHE CAN FALL ASLEEP PEACEFULLY IN THIS WORLD AND AWAKE IN THE NEXT.  * TENDER HUGS EVERYONE *
