OT Update - Stepson on Zenapax | Arthritis Information

Had a nice visit with stepson and stepdaughter today.  The infusion my stepson started for the complications of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome that started with a Z was Zenapax, an immunosuppressant used for organ transplants which also has some success in shrinking blood vessels in recurrent eye inflammations.  It is not normally used for my stepson's condition, but his case is unusual.  This is replacing all his oral meds, which he wasn't taking consistently anyway.  In any case, this alleviates all my confusion thinking that they put him on antibiotics.

I did bring a bottle of Multidophilus and the article about probiotics.  My stepdaughter who is on prophylactic antibiotics from her cochlear implant surgery said she would take them.  Her mother is going to ask stepson's doctor about it, which is as best I hoped.
That makes much more sense.  I hope the medication helps him!!! I'm glad you got it straight, and I hope it will help!  It sounds like an infusion is a good idea, if he doesn't remember his oral meds.
