Tonight at 9PM.

Get PO'ed all over again!

Pip
I don't know what you're talking about, Pip.  What show it it?It's a movie about the 2000 presidential election, with one of my favorite actors, Kevin Spacey.  Unfortunately I don't have HBO, so I'll just have to remain unperturbed.

Suzanne - I'm Tivoing it - I'll (lies hubby will...) drop it to CD and I'll send it to you!

I LOVE the tag line - the Future of the Nation was Hanging by a Chad!

Yes, that is probably true if I were intending to 'sell' it.  For home use...it should be OK.  Did you see that single mom get hit with 0K in fines for Kazaa?  OMG, what kind of a message is that?

But its moot anyway as I don't HAVE HBO either!  Apparently we only have basic to run the stupid computer.

Sorry, Suzanne, I would have gone criminal for you had I had the ability.  Damn.  I'll have to wait for it to come to Netflix.

Jasmine. I really hope you are joking.
Jasmine. I really hope you are joking.
About what?  Copying/sharing being technically illegal, or the RIAA being a bunch of heavy-handed thugs?
Different Suzanne here, another topic - yesterday when looking for that more recent 'Obama smokes' article I saw (on one of the dr. blog links, the week I found all that), I found an older article that said both Laura Bush AND Al Gore are closet smokers!  I'll give Laura a 'whatever', but Mr. Environment????   Jasmine. I just do not think the conversation needed to go in that direction. I have worked very hard to be civil to some of you who I don't always agree with. Pip was not intending to sell or make money on that. We have already discussed this at length and it ended up a very ugly thread. So let it rest. The folks involved in the making of this HBO film about the 2000 election and recount in Florida were talking about it on the Charlie Rose Show.  They said even though you know the outcome, it still is suspenseful.  Often these HBO films become available on netfliks and I hope to get it then.   Though, like you Pip, it'll probably be upsetting to revisit this story, you can't help but wonder, what if . . . . .

I still remember the parody ticket title 'Sore-Loserman'. Eight years later they still don't get it.
Jasmine. I just do not think the conversation needed to go in that direction. Oh for f**k's sake lighten up.  It was a smart-ass comment.  Nothing more.  get over yourself.

Pip,

Here's the link to the Charlie Rose interview w/Kevin Spacey and others re: the HBO docudrama "Recount."  Its about a half an hour.   There's an interesting fact -- this case cannot be sited, it is an  one time ruling, does not set a precedent.
