When I was first diagnosed with this mess in 2002, it was all over my body. Shoulders, wrist, elbow, hands, feet, groin, knees, etc. I have been on Enbrel, MTX, and mobic and began to pretty good. Even able to play golf for awhile. NOw lately my hand and wrist are all but useless. My legs have only felt better when in sports in college. My wrist feel as though they are sprained and my hands feel extreme pain. What is up with that? I notice when I run hot water over my wrist and hands the pain goes down considerbly. Does anyone know of any kind of wrist or hand brace that uses batteries to send heat to the area? What about these... http://www.mousemitt.com/web-content/mi.html http://www.braceup.com/thermoskin/arthritic_glove.htm http://www.painreliever.com/Wrist+Heat+Therapy.html
Ask your dr about pain patches. you can place them on area s of your skin, usually 12 hrs on 12 hrs off.. My big problem is my hands and I have to use these when the hands start swelling up and they do help, it does take a little time for the meds to start helping but it does work.

I use Handeze gloves (available at many stores, or online from the Dome Products). They keep the joints warm and also give mild support. They have gloves with and without a cushion support in the wrist. They are available in black, tan, and slate colors. They really help me alot when my hands/knuckles are acting up - I use a computer all day long at work.
