It's a real mock out of just some of the problems in software development in general.
I think it hit directly on one of the problems: the system runs the practice instead of the other way around. My oncologist has electronic records and he wound up retreating into that on my last visit. It's still just information, it's the doctor dealing with the patient that makes for a medical practice, not someone doing data entry or looking at numbers.
