Saw this in today's paper:

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hJNNQG6MSzr0JKpjv-gMCEyvmV4AD90VIH7O2
From the article:
"Barack Obama's doctor said Thursday the presidential candidate was in excellent health at the time of his last checkup 16 months ago, but he has a family history of cancer and a big, obvious risk — a smoking habit that he's trying, again, to break"
My issue with this is, as always, MEDIA COVERAGE!  This was way back in the paper, while McCain's release of records was up front.

Even googling for this story, trying to find a link to post, got me McCain's health story!!!  And the headlines "McCain appears cancer-free, healthy".  Unreal!!!!  This story came up as "Obama in excellent health".  All true, all true, but......
Healthy or unhealthy, Obama is the worst choice.  My opinion.

interesting... there was an article just a few days ago in one of the local (Chicagoland) papers saying how he has quit smoking.

I don't care if/what/when/where he smokes or not... I'm not voting for him.
"His doctor said only that Obama is using Nicorette "with success."

This is also a quote from the above article.  The article is contradicting itself.  Lindy
"His doctor said only that Obama is using Nicorette "with success." I really don't know, never used it, know very little about it.  I read the statement to mean that he had ceased smoking but if you don't use Nicorette once you've stopped then maybe he's in the process.  Who knows for sure.  I hear and read plenty of press about all of the candidates.  Not sure that I'm keeping count on who has the most press or where it appears in the news.  I'm more concerned about the issues at hand and how they'll be handled when one of the 3 become president.

In the last month I've met Hilary and Obama and listened to each of them speak.  Hilary was in a small town outside Grant's Pass for a town meeting and Obama was in Portland.  I'd like to hear and meet McCain but probably won't have the opportunity, we'll see.  It was interesting to meet them and ask a few pertinent questions and be able to look them in the eye.  Aside from that, you have to take what the press releases as news with some skepticism, not absolute truth, clarity, or without error.  Lindy
NBC, ABC, CBS are very biased for Obama.  The news is given through their biased eyes.  For some balance there is Fox News.   I like Hillary although she has problems.  She is a worker and does not give up despite the biased anti-female press.  McCain also has good points.

Praying for this country.  We may have serious problems if good people do not act.

He might be healthy, but he wouldn't be a healthy choice for President.

Good heavens - who cares if he smokes or any other candidate smokes for that matter it has absolutely nothing to do with running this country and I'd rather have a smoker than the idiot we have now - and before you start the family values thing - look around neither party has the leg up there they are what they are no matter what party or sex or sexual preference and all I want is someone who is truthful and does not use scare tactics to influence votes - we will always have to be on the ball and alert and that has been since Pearl Harbor - not just 9-11!!!

The fact that he smokes does matter to me. He must be a good role model for our children. How good could that look, our president with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Not pretty. Of course, I'm anti smoking so that is my opinion. Smoking is unhealthy, dirty and stinks. It is bad for his children to be around it. He needs to quit if he has not already. Good role model to me means a lot more than smoking a cigarette - sorry - I feel we have to many important issues that matter a bunch more than that.  I understand that some find this a thing but to me it's just a really small thing.  To each their own.  Hugs and good vibes. He needs to quit smoking.
He needs to quit smoking.
Cigarettes are legal (for now)
Legal has nothing to do with good health and good example. Hell I don't care if he smokes cigarettes (after all, didn't Bill like them cigars??? Okay maybe for his health he should quuit smoking but if he does or doesn't it's not an "oh my he did WHAT" thing.  Of course this is coming from a smoker that has 4 non smoking grown kids - guess I wasn't much of a role model to them.
