I can feel the bones grinding together in my feet when I flex my toes - feeling a bit freaked about this - also the pain has spread to another 2 joints in my left hand - this sucks - I am worried about my feet. How bad will I need to get before I get a dx do you think? What am I going to to - this is too sore now.
Julie, I went to a free hospital talk by a rheumy on arthritis and he recommended wax baths (not the bathtub) but I can't remember the name of the darn things but I guess you can buy them for manicures. I understand the warm wax feels great. I've never felt any grinding in my feet but they crack, snapple and pop a lot - like rice crispies and sometimes I walk like I'm stepping on glass or something; however, the mtx and pred help me a lot with that.
I hope you get some help soon. I understand why you freak out. Been there, done that. As insane as it may sound, there was a time when I thought I had a terminal illness - I can laugh now but at the time it was far from funny. I had two little toddlers and I thought for sure I wouldn't see them grow up. Try not to panic like I did; I know it is hard but it really doesn't help (easy for me to say, right). Wish I could help and provide better advice. I hope you feel better soon.
Hey Julie...I have that "grinding" in my hands, feet and back, so I know what you mean...IT IS FREAKY!! I agree about the Hot Wax, my friend has Fibro, and it works great for her hands and feet! I still wish I could plop a Hot Tub in everyones back yard, I ran out of chemicals, and waiting for them to come has made me realize how much it really helps me. I would think that anything that will give you that DEEP heat would be helpful.
Also...try to keep flexing your hands and feet as often as possible, keeping them still can hurt as much as using them too much. It's a delicate balance, but it's can be met! Didn't one Dr. give you a diagnosis of RA? Can you see him as your Rheumy? I thought you mentioned something about it, but I can't remember he said i had ra but he was so horrible to me and also said it would
not be appropriate for him to treat me because i saw him privately
