Almost dinner time here- what's everbody having. I could use some new dinner ideas.

For tonight I made a big pot of spaghetti sauce with meatballs & saugage but I am going to make a rose' sauce adding procuitto, garlic, butter & heavy cream and serve it over rigatoni. Like Vodka Rigatoni w/o the vodka because of this stupid MTX.

I got some fresh Italian bread from the bakery and for dessert canolli filled pastry shells.
Mmmmmm... that sounds so good!!
Can I come to your house to eat??
I'll bring the wine.
We're just going to grill up some chicken and have a salad and corn on the cob!peanut butter sanwiches [QUOTE=wanttobeRAfree]Almost dinner time here- what's everbody having. I could use some new dinner ideas.

I'm getting together with two friends for dinner.  Beautiful day out, so instead of going to a restaurant, one gal offered to cook dinner at her place.  We can sit outside and enjoy the evening instead of being cooped up inside.  I think she's making a pasta with chicken and asparagus.  I'm supplying bread and dessert.   I think a little wine is in order as well.....

hey you don't have to worry about cooking with alcohol with the mtx.  the alcohol burns off and you are left with the flavor.  besides you wouldn't get enough in each portion to cause a problem.

We're not cooking with the wine - I'm planning on having a glass or two.   But, thanks for the reminder on cooking with alcohol.    Enjoy your evening.

Oh man, I posted, I signed off and put dinner on the table. We ate what we could, I froze the rest, cleaned up and signed back on.
I was going to have a houseful of company! Maybe next time!

It was good- even without the vodka- Buckeye I know it burns off in the cooking but vodka was my cocktail of choice in the "good old pre RA days" so I didn't want any hanging around tempting me! Yeah- How come you don't like spaghetti sauce?lol i didnt like the sound of any of it    That's OK- it was probably too spicy for your stomach.

I like Burgers & fries (chips) too!
WTBRAF, your spaghetti sounded great! Boney really doesn't like pasta, huh? Oh well, his loss.

I don't know what we're having. I'm still pretty well confined to bed with my stupid broken pelvis. My Sweetie has been doing the cooking for almost 2 years, so I get pleasant surprises all the time. He's really a good cook. Made some sugar cookies this afternoon.

Cod Vera Cruz, black beans, brown rice, and mango/banana salad.  In fact it's cooking while I'm typing and smells yummy.  LindyWe had hot dogs, marshmallows and jiffy popcorn all cooked over a campfire.  Can you tell the kids picked out dinner tonight???  It was fun though! This will be Sunday dinner, but I'm making Rachel Ray's "You Won't Be Single for Long" Vodka pasta.  I was glad to read that it's OK to cook with alcohol.  I figured it would all burn off but it's good to have that confirmed.  No alcohol for me either, especially since Sunday is MTX day.
You're welcome.  We just finished eating and it was gooood.  I eat a lot of fish, especially now that we're in Washington state for the summer.  Enjoy your meal tomorrow.  Tomorrow is Tacos and refried beans.Well the dinner I've been thinking about is CathyMN's...the chicken with asparagus & pasta. Sounds yummy- how was it prepared Cathy?

Im cooking chicken curry with basmati rice, naan bread and sambals for the family, I am having wild mushroom cous cous with salad. Then Im off to see the Osmonds in London......yahooooooooo!!!

Have fun at the concert Lisa!

Pin, I know who the Osmunds are, but what the heck is naan bread and sambels?I dined out last night with a large group of friends.  There were perhaps a dozen gay guys, 2 hetero guys, and 3 hetero girls.  All different races.  OMG every time I'm out with this bunch I hear the raunchiest gay jokes and stories, and lots of ethnic jokes as well.  I think the only one who was offended was the hetero white waitress. We were all laughing so hard the entire night!  We had a blast, as usual. Hi wannabe - it was delicious.     Penne noodles, cx, asparagus, walnuts, spinach, garlic with a cream-based sauce.   Great sauce for bread-dipping.   It looked pretty easy to prepare.

Jasmine - sounds like your group would be a riot.
Pin, have a great time at the concert and please invite me to dinner sometime.  Love Indian food.

Jas, I can just imagine the fun you had.  I miss my California friends.

Lindy
Mmmm, you guys are making me hungry!  I've gotta make my own vodka sauce one of these days.  Hubby is a great cook...plus he does all the shopping, cooking and cleaning....but I do miss some of my own recipes.  Sometimes he humors me and makes one, but then I want to "supervise"...and that means trouble!

Thursday night he made a great marinated steak on the grill, with baked potatoes and grilled corn on the cob.  Friday night we went out for dinner to celebrate our 3-year "meetiversary"...3 years from the day we met in person (a few days after we met on-line).  And last night we had burgers on the grill, french fries and grilled corn on the cob, so we may be in a bit of rut too.  Plus we usually don't have so much beef.  I think he's just glad to be able to get outside and grill with the warm weather.  Maybe we'll have some pasta tonight.  Cathy, I want your recipe!
