Hello, I am 41 Female ,
For the past 4 years I have been experiencing pain in my legs , wrist , fingers , ankles and toes. The pain would at times disappears for months. As of the last year I have been dealing with extreme fatigue along with the joint pain. The pain is interfering with daily life. I also started having muscle pain . Along with low grade fever.
Two weeks ago I finally had enough and saw a Doctor.  He ordered routine blood tests. No sedrate or ANA test was ordered. Just a general lipid , CBC with Diff and metabolic comp .The standard test run for a general physical.
This week I went in to get the results (thinking ok now maybe he will order a sedrate and ANA) . The doctor look at me and said , what do you want? I reminded him I was here to see him for pain and fatigue. He stated I see nothing in your report to indicate anything wrong.(He never took a medical history or even examined my joints.) He then told me to see a physiatrist. At this point I told him NO you need to do your job and either send me to a Rheumatologist or order a Sedrate and ANA. He looked shocked and said OK ,or so he says. I have yet to be reffered.
I took a look at the blood report and my WBC is flagged at high 11.5 . My glucose is Serum is 115. He never mentioned anything and brushed me off. It is my understanding WBC over 10.5 indicates possible inflammation. My question is can a standard blood test rule out connective tissue? Should an ANA and sedrate be ordered when dealing with joint pain? Anyone else told to see a psychiatrist for pain and fatigue?
Boy! If I had a Dr tell me to see a phychiatrist for pain and fatigue
I would be looking for a new Dr.
You don't need to put up with that! You know how you are feeling
and need to find a Dr who will listen and take action.

_popupControl();  Thanks!  Finding a new Dr. is the first thing on my list. I will have to wait another month to see a new doctor..I chose this Dr because he is just around the corner from me. I am so dissapointed he is a quack! If I can just get the referral from him I will not have to see him again.
Carrie
I sure hope he gives you the referral and don't be afraid to call
and pester him. He'll get sick of the phone calls and just do his
job.
Those kind of Drs just make me so mad. Jerk is all I can say right now.
Good luck to you.
_popupControl(); Thanks for your support. I am also hard of hearing(70% loss...he didn't even ask what my diagnosis was. I just looked up his medical licence and sure enough he has many complants.
I was so hoping for some relief. The pain can be unbearable at times.
_popupControl(); opps! . He stated I see nothing in your report to indicate anything wrong.(He never took a medical history or even examined my joints.) He then told me to see a physiatrist. Should read  psychiatrist not physiatrist(spell check changed.)
