Decided to try the Celebrex Rx and went to pick it up.  WITH insurance it was 7!!!!

Holy cow!!  For that price, it better CURE my arthritis and maybe cancer, too.  It was only marginally effective so far from worth it.

Talk about sticker shock!

Have you tried other NSAIDs such as naproxen, ibuprofen, meloxicam (Mobic - available as generic now)? 7 with an insurance prescription plan?  was this a month supply?  do you normally have a lower copay?  was this not on their drug formulary list? could you save money if you bought through your insurance's mail order pharmacy?  Geez, prescription meds can be expensive even with insurance, I hope it helps.

I haven't checked into other options for celebrex (mail order, etc) but may do that.  I have my appt with the RD next week so will talk to him about other meds.  I'm not having any relief yet from the Plaq so he may want to add Mtx or change things up anyway.  30 200-mg Celebrex capsules is about 0 from drugstore.com without any insurance.  Sounds like perhaps the insurance didn't cover the Celebrex.  You should give the insurance company a call to see if an error was made.  Adjudication errors are not uncommon. That's good to know!  I'll call them tomorrow and see!

thanks!

[QUOTE=Sunam]JasmineRain... I was fortunate enough to get some samples when I tried it over a year ago. It was remarkably effective--knocked out every ache in my body, but I had a reaction to it. I think on my plan it would be per month, somewhat less if prescribed for three months. That's another thing you can check on if it works for you, many insurance companies will lower your costs if it's for a long-term prescription of three months.
