No I am not on prednisone.  Does that make you more suseptable to fractures?I've had a couple of fractures ( feet and ankle ) and the pain is just like a flare.

If the pain continues you should get an xray.
its impossible to guess what you did to it...call your doctorI'm not asking anyone to guess, I was just asking if anyone has injured an area that was affected by ra and had it hurt way worse than a normal bump would thank you.Dear Reegie, I'm in a very similar boat.   I hurt my foot while walking in a pair of sneakers I shouldn't have been wearing.  I 'd worn them a few times in the past and overpronated with no lasting problem.
This happened at least 3 weeks ago and my foot still hurts.  I wondering whether the ra is a factor also.
I'm torn between going to a podidtrist or calling my rd.  My problem is I'm afraid they're going to tell me stop taking walks and rest.  But of course I'm willing to do what needs to be done.
So I sympathize with you and hope we get some more answers about the ra- injury connection.
I'm beginning to think after reading your story, that  might well be the case.
Hope you feel better soon!

if the injury occurred 3 weeks ago its time for medical intervention.  people with RA more so than a so called normal person can not afford to ignore possible joint injuries
Buckeye, I've taken your advice and made an appointment with a podiatrist.  I'll get his opinion about the ra connection and go from there.  Thanks.good girl!!HI Reegie, yes Pred does make you more prone to weak bones, it is known for causing all sorts of probs but especially osteoporosis, after a period of time using it, so much so that if you are on it for 3 months or more, they are now supposed to prescribe a bisphosphinate, to protect your bones, such as Actonel or Zoledronic acid etc.  Regards Janie.  I think you should get it checked, if you have fractured it, it sometimes doesn't show up on Xrays until after 3 weeks, when new bone is forming.
