Air in Humira Injection? | Arthritis Information

Okay, my last humira injection had air in it, how bad is this? With these darn pens, I can't see what's going on but I heard air glurgle during the injection, and afterwards I could squish it around in my skin. Talk about a sick feeling. The airbubble in my leg went down after a day but I can't help but think that is not the best thing to happen? You're only injecting into the fatty area but even so I still get the air bubble out of the syringe before I inject.  LindyAir is only dangerous when it goes directly into a vein....and even then you need a fairly good size bubble.  You should remove the air before injecting, but if you don't it's not a concern as you're not injecting into a vein.  It's easy to get the air out of a normal syringe but with the pens you can't get the air out before you inject because they're 'spring loaded'.
