Removal of air boot | Arthritis Information

HI guys, well its been 7 weeks and I have had the boot off for a week, the fracture area did have strange feeling but I was thinking overall, its better!  How wrong was I?  I went for a walk yesterday with my sons and it went ok, but today, the pain is worse than ever, and the type of pain feels like nerve pain it is so sharp.  I phoned my Ortho's secretary and she said phone my RD or GP on Monday but wear the boot until then.  I have taken all the pain killers on my usual schedule and they don't seem to be helping this problem.  Anyhow my GP also said even though I have now lost 5 kilos which is excellent, I still need to really try hard to lose more as my blood pressure is still not good, yesterday 129/98, she said if it doesn't come down by next week then I am to go on a further BP med, I am already on 300mg of one BP drug, and she really does not want to add another but this has been prolonged now.  She is sending me to a nerve specialist as my hands and wrists are still giving me lots of trouble, pain, numbness and swelling.  I have had the right hand and wrist cleaned out before and carpal tunnel nerve released in 2005.

My son has an appointment on 18th June with the paediatric rheumy, he has finised his Pred and is now on Naprosyn and Somac to protect his tummy,  but his spine, hips, shoulders and ribs are still very tender.  Hope everyone here is ok, I am literally exhausted, stress of worrying over Liam and trying to do too much as usual.  Awful relentless headaches from MTX, mouth ulcers and bad tummy.  I want a new body!!!!!!

Thanks for listening guys, much appreciated.  Love Janie.

Wow guys, its me again, I was in so much pain this last hour and a half, I considered going to the hospital, but I remembered to do first aid, so rested, iced, compressed and elevated, took more Tramal and panadol and eventually it settled down, thank God, I can't believe how much a foot fracture in a metatarsal can hurt!  I am hoping I can make it through the night with my own resources!  Thanks for listening guys. Janie Hi Janie, this has been such a long process for you.  Have no idea what's causing the pain and it's a long time till Monday.  You can whine all you want to, we all do it.  I'm glad you're going to a neurologist.  Have you been on Lyrica for nerve pain?  LindySorry you're hurting so much, Janie..Hope you are both feeling better soon- sounds like it's time for both of you to catch a break!

You poor thing.  Definitely give Lyrica a try, it works for me when nothing else does.  Wising you relief...

Aw Janie, I totally understand.  Whacks I inflict on myself are agonizing now.  Bone pain is intense, and my bones never used to hurt at all.  Take care ~~
