I went to this local fruit market yesterday and this is what I got for 13.78:

a five banana bunch, 1 honey rock melon, 2 quarts of strawberries, 7 kiwi, 7 lemons, 4 oranges, 1 pineapple, a loaf of bread, and a giant bunch of seedless green grapes.  Oh yeah, and 3 mangos.  Not bad, huh?
Dammit linncn, now I'm hungry. Organic? You did good!!!!  I've been eating organic only and I just paid .00 for a loaf of bread. Yesterday, I made my own bread.  I did get organic lettuce for the same price as regular. So I guess there are some bargains out there.  But few and far between.  LindyWith all that fresh produce? I'll say you did good!Thanks...I was kinda proud of myself.  Usually I'm too lazy to make a special trip and just pay more at the grocery.  But now with gas prices, I'm becoming more cheap than I am lazy.  So their's a bright side to everything I guess.  :)I have been wanting strawberries. But they are .00 a package around here.

Now I am hungry, thanks Link-A-Doodle!That sounds like a wonderful mix for a fruit salad(except for the bread).
Now I'm hungry too!
Mmmmmm...I'm going to the farmers market in the morning and
see what they have. It it strawberry season , hopefully I can find
some big ones.
Summer food is the best, isn't it??Love it!! When ever we go on vacation (dominican republic) all
I eat there is the fruit.
But I love cooking on the grill , one of my summer favorites.

Me too!  I have tomatoes growing in the backyard.  Can't wait!!!My husband and one of our friends are growing tomatos
at her house. They are so funny, they have their "maeto"
report emails a few times a week. My husband checks them
in the morning and she checks them in the evening.
Can you tell it's a first for both of them? Neither has a green thumb.
That is wicked cheap.  I just bought a small bag of cherries and 8 oranges and paid almost the same as you.Such a deal!  I just bought some peaches and blueberries for a cobbler and it cost a small fortune...and it's in-season!  Not only did you get a great deal, you did a good thing for the local farmers' economy.  Plus, I was just told by my PCP yesterday that for allergies, it's a good idea to eat the local honey to help you get used to the pollen, etc. in the area where you live. It helps your body become less allergic.  My husband takes that one step further and believes you get even more benefit from eating the local produce.  It makes great sense to me.  A win-win for everybody and all around.  I wish you were all close to me. I have a huge lemon tree in my back yard and it has so many lemons that we can't manage to even make a dent in them, even giving away to everyone we know.

Also a grapefruit tree, with which we supply all our friends and family. And an orange tree with the best oranges I've ever eaten.

You dun good girl. I love fresh fruit and veggies. I had canned mandarin oranges for dinner tonight, LOL as I'm not feeling good. I can't move good enough right now to go to the grocery store. Oh well.Nini I'm jealous!  I love citrus fruit.  My husbands family used to have a 2nd home in Florida when we were first married.  I think I spent my whole time in the backyard eating fruit.  YUM
