Rheumy, who thinks I don't have ra said that he is 100% sure i don't again because the bone scan came back clear.  I have been trying to find out about this isotope bone scan and it is usually used for cancer patient to see if the cancer has spread to their bones.  Apparently it shows inflammation or damage to the bones.  Also found out that it is 13% sensitive for ra and non specific - i wouldn't have thought that if i've only had RA for 3/4 months that my actual bones would be inflammed yet - thought it would just be the tissues etc.  I don't know why he is ignoring the anti ccp test which is 98% specific for RA.  I told him i have severe morning stiffness and i told him again about the joints and the tiredness etc and he said i don't have RA.  i told him the other guy said i do and he said that he shouldn't have said that.  There is no way that this is not RA from what i can see - and the worst thing is that now my husband is not taking me seriously again and my family think i'm a crackpot and i've just got a few aches and pains.  what am i going to do - I feel like i'm going mad - any ideas?

Julie,  I AM SOOOOOOOOO SORRY!  I thought you were going to quit seeing that rd.  What about going back to the one that said you do have it?  Maybe it is good bone scan came back negative.  I wish mine did I know, I'm totally stuck because the rheumy who says i don't have it was the one i had to rely on to get the bone scan and the rheumy who said i do have it is horrible to me and also said he is 'old school' and it would be inappropriate for him to treat me privatley anyway and the 'specialists' in leeds said that anti ccp probably meant i'd get it but i don't have just now because they can't see swelling and it must just be aches and pains from picking the baby up - that guy told be to get an excercise bike - i've hardly got the energy to walk the length of myself jsut now - a flaming excercise bike - i'm starting to feel like ashton kutcher is going to come out soon and tell me i've been punked - I am so sick of this - thanks for the sympathy Roxy  awww hunny you poor thing.  You should move to the states so you can get better drs. im so sorry julie that your having to go through this.     you know - i feel like moving there - sad thing is, I go outside so little these days, i wouldn't notice where i was.  Can i just say, I am SO hungry - keep fingers crossed this jaw thing eases up - sick of soup and burned my tongue on it the other day too.

I have this thing about magpies right, if i see one it's bad luck and two is good luck.  I have seen this same one magpie about 30 times a day every day for the last month. I looked at it today and i thougth - i feel like shooting you and putting you in the oven and eating you for spite - that's awful isn't it - i just hate that bird so much - it's like, sitting there, every time i look out the window saying bad luck bad luck bad luck   nrnnnnrghh - just ignore me today - that bone scan has pushed my mind to the brink of sanity today.

btw I am a BIG animal lover, don't worry no magpie will die.  well, unless it drops dead from evil thoughts.

ok julie whats a magpie?  im lost hehe

God, did i spell it right, you know i'm sure i did but the more i look at the word, the weirder it looks.......hmm  anyway - a magpie (?) is like a crow except it's black and white (i hate them they are evil - unless there are 2 of them)   There is a rhyme about one for sorrow two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy blah blah blah but i just want to see two every day and all i see is this one ( i swear) staring in at me all day. ohh ok now i know what your talking about. ive heard that rhyme too  what are magpie's called in the states - are they still magpies? are they evil there too? i dont know what they are called in the states i think they are just crows and i havent heard if they are evil.  my grandma always used to do the rhyme like this  "one for the money two for the show three to get ready and four to go"  ahahah yea my grandma makes up different words to songs and rhymes well, it was my gran who told me the rhyme and she was mad so maybe it was her (LOL) Yes we have magpies.  I just love them.  They are very striking with their contrasting colors and orange bills.  Magpies have tons of personality.  You usually see them in orchards.   I think you are lucky Julie to get to see them.

Of course, if your right and he is wrong, that probably won't bode well with him.  But too bad - it's your body and your pain....

God Julie,

How unlucky can one person be with doctors.  I agree with everyone else here.......get a new one.  I have no diagnosis yet but my doc still says I have arthralgia that needs to be diagnosed.  Surely that is the whole point.  You have pain in your joints which needs solving.  Things like that don't just happen for no reason.  Seems to me you rheumatologist is just useless, the problem is obviously a bit complicated for him!

You are right about magpies though.  We have hundreds of them around our village but they only seems to come into my garden one at a time.

I hope you can find a decent doctor soon.  If you had something obvious your family would be fighting with you to get a diagnosis.  But you can't see it and some people are very closed minded.  Hang in there.  They will come round I'm sure.

Hugs

N
