OT - summer wedding and black? | Arthritis Information

Hi

Need fashion advice - we have a wedding tomorrow and wondering it's okay to wear black?  I have a great sleeveless black dress and the wedding party is black, so thinking it would work.   If it was a winter wedding or late afternoon/early evening, I wouldn't question it - but summer and 2:00 gave me pause.
I think a nice black dress would work with any formal occasion.
Is the weddingand reception inside or out?
I think that if they are indoors you should be fine with the black.
Have fun!
Black is the new 'linen'.

I'd do it.

Good - two yes votes is all I need  - now I better double-check that my shoes still fit.

yeah..no problem with the black dress

Okay so I'm different - if the wedding party is wearing black, are you in the weddning party?
Cause if you aren't, I wouldn't wear solid black.  IMHO......
Go for it.  And have fun.

Not in the wedding party, so good point Debra.  The dress does have a lace bottom, with the underlying fabric being kind of a copper, so it's not quite all black if you look close.   My son's wedding was in Dec 06, black wedding party and the color of the evening was definitely black - but then again is was a 4:30 wedding and winter.   I'm going to go for black and enjoy.

Isn't it funny how old rules can change - I think white shoes after Labor day are even okay sometimes.
Black would be nice, but you might want to add another color.  Either with a sash around your waist, or pearl necklace or a light weight type of jacket in white or color to help it not seem so drab.
